    Gary Paulsen (1939-2021) wrote more than two hundred books for children and adults. Three of his novels – Hatchet, Dogsong, and The Winter Room – were Newbery Honor books.       Great insight to where Gary Paulsen came from, what he did, how he grew up and where some many story ideas came from. I very much enjoyed this book.

      I'm a self-contained behavior and study skills teacher for 8th and 9th graders, and I'm beyond excited to do a novel study with my kids on this book.
