About this audiobook

Jacelyn Miller is a PhD student studying ancient Greek culture and mythology, a subject she’s always been inexplicably drawn to. One day, out of the blue, her thesis advisor tells her that she’s been sent an invitation by a new, mysterious benefactor of the university to tour his collection of ancient Greek artifacts and art.
The day of the meeting, she’s introduced to a gorgeous man with haunting eyes who tells her something impossible: She is the reincarnation of Persephone, ancient Greek goddess of spring, and he is Hades, god of the dead… her husband. A curse laid on them by a jealous god has separated them for centuries, but he’s found her at last. His words are insane, and Jacelyn refuses to believe him.
When strange and frightening things begin happening to her, however, it becomes more and more difficult to dismiss him and his story. Jacelyn needs Hades's help if she wants to stay alive, but the more time she spends with him, the more it seems her very soul craves him. Can she resist the powerful pull that exists between them, or will she surrender not only her heart but her soul to the king of the underworld?

This is a great book! The only thing that would make it better was if it were longer! I can’t wait to read everything by this author.

A delightful story of Hades and Persephone in modern times. Love and some suspenseful moments. Glad I found this book.

The story of Hades and Persephone is what attracted me to the story. I found the premise intriguing but I also felt like everything was rushed. I would have enjoyed a longer tale with more adventures and more evenly paced world building.

The main character, teaching assistant and PhD candidate, Jacelyn Miller, is offered an opportunity to see a private collection of a new benefactor to the University where she is working on her thesis. The benefactor’s name is Greek for “notorious” but I have no idea how to spell it as I listened to the book rather than read it. “Mister Clyametrus?”is his phonetic name. It’s not really a spoiler to say that this man turns out to be Hades because that seems pretty apparent from the publisher’s book summary. And because I don’t know how to spell it, I’m just gonna call him Hades. Hades is a god with godly type powers. Jacelyn is allegedly Persephone in a human body with amnesia. The notion of her being a goddess is not well received by Jacelyn.

The audio version of this book was featured here on SCRIBD. I’m not sure if I was listening to the only version or an abridged version of the book but the total time of the narration was 3 hours and 13 minutes. The narrator was Veronica Worthington. There weren’t too many voices (characters) in the story but Worthington did a decent job with both the males and females. The professor appearing towards the beginning sounded like a Texan or Western cowboy. Hades sounded like a vampire (as voiced in paranormal stories.)

For the short length, the author seemed to spend too much time on Jacelyn being disbelieving about being Persephone but then suddenly, she’s all in. Despite being short in length, there were sexy times and steamy language.

Overall, I felt like this story had good bones but I would liked to have seen it fleshed out in a more complete way sorta like Percy Jackson adventures with mature theme.

Eternity is not enough it is the first of Erin Broich book that I have ever read. It is a beautiful story and with not a lot of action. But it is a very good with some ancient background of the Greek goddesses and the other deity.

My main issue with the story was the characters ease of going from "this isn't real" to "yep this is legit". Often it felt like the transition happened within a couple of sentences/seconds. But even when the story indicated some amount of time has passed it doesnt go through the steps the character went through from not believing to acceptance.

Cheesy and predictable. I like books with something to challenge intellect.

    3.5 Stars for me!

A quick note to Erin... The constant barrage of 'this is crazy', 'he is not', 'I am not' overwhelmed the story and had me banging my head against the proverbial wall. Other than that, I really liked the story.

This was a fun, quick read and with belief suspended, a fun ride. With the exception of the statement above, this was an intriguing take on some of the lesser discussed gods of Greek Mythology.
