She worked until becoming very ill around the age of 48. Not able to work, she needed major surgery at 51. Her body shut down immediately after that surgery. Six weeks later, she became jaundiced and was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease (cirrhosis). Her illness progressed rapidly leading to doctors telling her she needed a liver transplant to survive.Now, she lives in Texas with her her dog Miss Pickles by her side completely healed of her non-curable disease! She enjoys writing and spending time with her grandchildren.
