About this ebook
Iranian-born British Commando Major Ray Kerman was a rising star in the SAS -- until he abruptly switched loyalties while on a mission in the Middle East. Fanatically determined to employ his brilliant talents and training in the destruction of those he once swore to protect, he is now General Ravi Rashood, leader of the world's most vicious terrorist organization -- and he has found his ultimate weapon: Barracuda 945. A sleek and silent Russian hunter-killer nuclear submarine that can fire land-attack guided missiles from below the ocean's surface, it is invisible to all pursuers and virtually impossible to track. Yet Admiral Arnold Morgan, the President's National Security Adviser, must somehow marshal America's forces and hunt down this 8,000-ton nightmare of modern warfare before it unleashes its fire and death . . . or the first target to fall will be California.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5There were several aspects to this book that I found annoying, didn't add to the tension and would have been more suited to a movie script than a book. Other facts were repeated over and over and it all seemed that this book was padded out to meet a predetermined length. I found it disappointing as I've read a few books by Patrick Robinson and this was just a poor effort. It was barely tolerable.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This is a very poor example of Robinson's work. It is the start of a series devoted to the exploits of an SAS man turned Islamic terrorist, who conceives a plan to buy a Russian submarine to use against US oil and electricity facilities, thereby encouraging the US to abandon interference in the middle east. However, the writing quality is poor with huge amounts of pure description, lack of narrative drive, and simply dull prose. The protagonist is not particularly believable - and neither is his wife! The text is full of the usual anti-Islam prejudice but is particularly anti Clinton. Robinson has produced much better work of this type eg Nimitz Class and HMS Unseen.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A spy novel about a British Special Forces person who converts to a Palestinian terrorist. He pulls off several cappers and plots to change the strategy for terrorism in the middle east. With Iran's help they purchase a couple of Russian submarines and set out to destroy the oil supplies from Alaska to San Diego. In the end the US special operations blows up the Panama Canal.
