It has also been confirmed, much to the relief of us Elder Scrolls / Fallout fans, that Skyrim is running on an all new engine.

We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic, said Bethesda community manager, Nick Breckon via Twitter.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is due for release on 11/11/11, but no platforms have been confirmed yet.

The video shows a lone man sniping from Big Ben before revealing an alien invasion on Earth. Things get more exciting when the video reveals Commander Shepard viewing the war on Earth from the safety of space.

    Prototype 2 Coming In 2012

    See the trailer

Activision has confirmed that Prototype 2, the sequel to Radical Entertainment's 2009 open world horror game is currently in development for 2012.

The story revolves around Sgt. James Heller, who is on a mission to destroy original anti-hero, Alex Mercer. As the trailer says, to kill a monster you must become one.

When PROTOTYPE surpassed 2M units we knew gamers would want a sequel to find out what happens next with Alex Mercer, said Ken Rosman, Studio Head, Radical Entertainment. Forza Motorsport 4 Revealed

    Kinect Compatible

Microsoft has announced that Forza Motorsport 4 is in development at Turn 10 Studios for an Autumn 2011 release.

Forza 4 will incorporate controller free racing fun with Kinect compatibility, allowing you to control the car with realistic body movements. Purely optional of course, as controller based gameplay is is very much a big part of the game.

According to Microsoft the game will contain bone-jarring physics, unparalleled levels of customisation, and rosters of dream cars and tracks, with popular TV brand Top Gear also included.

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution Delayed

    For further polish

Delays are a common event in the world of video games. If a publisher announces a massive game that quickly gets us anticipating the release, you can almost guarantee that same game will be pushed back from the initial release date, usually for further polish.

It'll come as no surprise then that Square Enix has delayed the launch of the hotly anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Q1 2011 until after the next financial year for further polish. Meaning it'll come out at some point after April 2011.

With weak sales performances of console game titles that have been newly released during the current fiscal year as well as harsh market feedback regarding a key title, the Group recognises the reinforcement of development capability in our digital entertainment segment as our most critical managerial issue, says Square Enix.

We therefore have decided to spend additional time to further polish our upcoming game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, resulting in a shift in release timing from our prior plan of the current fiscal year to next fiscal year.

All is forgiven because it sure will be worth the wait.

Inception: The Game In The Works?

    Nolan reveals

Inspired film director, Christopher Nolan has confirmed that he's working on a video game version of the awesome film Inception.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Nolan said I always imagined Inception to be a world where a lot of other stories could take place. At the moment, the only direction we're channeling that is by developing a videogame set in the world.

He goes on to say it is a a longer-term proposition, so not something we'll be playing soon.

    SEGA Announces Binary Domain

    From the creator of Yakuza

SEGA has announced a brand new sci-fi shooter, Binary Domain. A squad-based shooter by Toshihiro Nagoshi, the creator of the Yakuza series. The game is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Binary Domain puts players in the middle of a fast-paced and intense battle for humanity in robot-invaded 2080 Tokyo. Fighting through the derelict lower levels of the city, players control an international peace-keeping squad that soon starts to question their surroundings and the choices they made. Are the robots becoming more human, or are humans becoming more like machines?

Nagoshi-san has also left a message for fans, that speaks to the overall game design and philosophy behind Binary Domain. Please read on:

Usually games have a simple theme, but if we aim to maximize the appeal of a game as interactive entertainment, we need to develop more sophisticated themes that tie into every aspect of the game. I have made many attempts to link a game heavy in drama to a highly enjoyable and immersive gameplay experience and with Binary Domain every setting and mechanic in the game is designed to revolve around Life.

To further visualize this idea, I started to create Binary Domain. The core concept of this game from the beginning is life; the project code name from the start was in fact Inochi, which means life in Japanese. The most distinctive way of differentiating a creature from a machine is life. However, we also know that machines can be given a form of life when created by man. Is it possible that the differentiation is becoming less clear and machines are actually becoming more like humans?

One of the key elements of this is the pursuit of strong and differentiated human AND robot AI. Aiming to have the world's best AI was essential to bring a true realisation of the concept of life to the players, through the story and the action within the gameplay. The inclusion of online modes has allowed us to transform the game from a mere battle field into a field of survival.

Additionally, the game is set in Tokyo in the year 2080. This was important to realise the theme of life as it's where we (the development team) are actually living as we tell the story of this drama. I decided to combine this with a deep human drama with science fiction, despite most science fiction games being cold and clinical.

Finally, and best of all, I am working with the Yakuza team who are all excited to take on this new challenge and we are hoping that the technique and pride developed on the Yakuza series will move up to a new level.

That's all I can tell you now, but I'm sure the game will amaze you in the near future more than you could imagine.

    Don't miss it!

Portal 2 Pushed Back To April 2011

    This isn't a triumph!

Valve has pushed back the release date for the anticipated Portal 2 from February to April 18th, 2011. This is yet another delay, as originally the game was due right about now.

Valve today announced that Portal 2 -- the sequel to the ground-breaking title that won over 30 game of the year awards, despite missing its original ship date -- will now be available the week of April 18th, 2011,

This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve's proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date, smirks Valve.

Black Ops Is The Biggest Entertainment Launch Ever

    No surprises

Activision are drinking more champagne in celebration that Treyarch's highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops has become the biggest entertainment launch ever with an estimated sell-through of approximately $360 million in North America and the United Kingdom alone in the first 24 hours of its release, as compared to last year's estimated day-one sell-through of $310 million for Modern Warfare 2.

Black Ops, marks the second year in a row that the Call of Duty franchise has set day one launch records across all forms of entertainment. In its first day on November 9, the blockbuster title sold through approximately 5.6 million copies in North America and the United Kingdom, as compared to 4.7 million copies for last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

There has never been another entertainment franchise that has set opening day records for two consecutive years and we are on track to outperform last year's five-day global sales record of $550 million, said Bobby Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard, Inc.

"The game's success underscores the pop culture appeal of the brand. Call of Duty: Black Ops is the finest game that Treyarch has ever made and raises the bar for online gameplay by delivering the deepest and most intense Call of Duty experience yet.

The Call of Duty franchise has over 25 million players around the world that are engaged in billions of hours of online gameplay, and we are committed to supporting them with new content and features on a more frequent and regular basis.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds Hands-On Preview

    Ready! FIGHT!

It's always nice to get hands-on with a game that is nowhere near the actual release date. It's nice because you can tell everyone exactly how it plays, with tongue sticking out and a head full off check me out, I'm awesome!. The downside however, is that having a moment with a gem makes the actual release date seem so damn far away now.

So as a huge Marvel fan and a massive gamer, it was both a huge privilege and pleasure and a major tease that I managed to get some hands-on time with Capcom's next huge beat 'em up, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. As a massive comic book fan I was eager to play as Thor and Hulk - two of my favourite characters in the Marvel Universe; and on the Capcom side I was anxious to check out Amaterasu (Okami) and Dante (Devil May Cry). But before I go on and tell you what these, plus other characters, were like lets talk about looks and gameplay.

So first things first how does it look? Well for those living in a cave and haven't seen any screenshots or videos you'll be happy to know that it looks great. It's stylish, with vibrant colours and great animations just as you would expect from the series. The characters are designed perfectly and animated beautifully, somewhere between cel-shaded and comic book style.

The stages and very comic book and the specials have been done in a way that just make everything look even more epic than it already is. Almost as if it's jumping right out of the page. The soundtrack is also great and makes the game have this 'oh it's on!' moment to give you a little adrenaline rush before kicking serious virtual butt.

The previous two Marvel vs Capcom games have both been very fast-paced and heap loads of fun for both the technical fighters and the 'button bashing' types, and this one is no exception to the form. There are loads of moves and techniques for you to learn if you wish to or if you are a little more like me, you can button mash until your thumbs are red with contentment, but you will begin to learn moves eventually.

As you would expect there are a vast amount of moves and combos that you can perform, and just like the recent Street Fighter IV there are a few Ultras and Supers too. Before you ask yes you can do the triple character attack in mid-air and yes it is indeed very effective and super awesome. In-fact, all the moves and animations are really fluid and smooth and for me they give the fighting that extra edge compared to most beat 'em ups, regardless of which character you are fighting as.

As is the norm with the series, the matches that I played were all 3-on-3 tag team match ups. As you select your three fighters you can assign the Specials that you want each character to have, giving you that extra strategic angle, particularly for the more experienced players in these types of games.

With two franchises that off such a unique and vast bunch of characters, it's fair to say that Fate of Two Worlds caters for every style possible. You have your large, slow
