About this ebook

A collection of poetry that throbs with life. Each poem has been drawn from experience and from the well that bubbles up inside each of us. Feel the emotion as the author shares of herself. Identify with the feelings of love. Stand defiantly with her as she declares her hard-won independence. Go with her from despair to exhilaration. Rise from the ashes like a phoenix and then soar away on the wings of a wish.

Kathy Green

Katy is a woman whose roots go deep into the ‘far blue mountains’ that she loves so well. Born & raised in the hills of Tennessee, she is the mother of three and grandmother of three. She spent thirty years in the Piedmont of NC where she met the love of her life. She attended Gaston College. She has a great love for nature, for the earth, and for the Divine. Believing that with faith all things are possible, she says that the trials and troubles of her life have made her strong and brought her to be the person she is today. Writing has been her outlet. She has had poems published by Fine Arts Press in Knoxville, by the North Carolina Poetry Society, and Wyrdwood Publications among others. She currently resides in southeast TN, across the mountain from where she was born.

Stardust and Moonbeams - Kathy Green

    (and you)

    Misty mornings, magic nights,

A rose in bloom, firefly lights,

The ocean rushing to the shore,

These things (and you) I adore.

    A wink, a touch, a kiss, a sigh,

The robin spreads its wings to fly,

The earth beneath, the sky above,

It's all of life (and you) I love.

    Mountains reaching to the sky,

The soft green grass, a newborn's cry,

The stallion running wild and free,

All these (and you) mean much to me.

    Misty mornings, magic nights,

    Bright sunshine, candlelight,

    A kitten chasing a butterfly,

Life in general (and you) make me high.

    For All Time

    For Danny

    I looked in your eyes

    And saw tenderness there

And fell in love all over again.

    Without rhyme or reason,

    Or regard for season,

I knew I’d love you for all time.

    There will be others,

Who will love you, I’m sure,

But they won’t love you like I do.

For as long as I live

With all the love I can give,

I’ll love you for all time.

There’s a place in my heart

That no one else can fill.

It’s reserved for you, only you.

    So when life’s uncertain,

    Filled up with hurting,

Remember -- I love you for all time.

    Katydid
