I am the eldest out of 4 sisters and my family is my life. I love writing and reading. 'Something's Coming' is the first book I have published. Although, I have written several others in the past. 'If Only' was written for my 2 youngest sisters in hopes it will make them stop and think when it comes to being online. I hope all who read my writing enjoys reading it, as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please feel free to give a review, once you have read any of them.

Reviews for Something's Coming

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Something’s Coming by Lisa Schuch is a grand adventure into paranormal romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. The book’s heroin, Roxxi, is strong as both a character and a person. This novel is a fantastic read; carrying with its words images of the happenings that bring the reader deep into the midst of tale as it unfolds. This reader’s only complaint is that it left me wanting more. Some consider that a mandate of a good book, play, movie, or show; but for the reader it breeds a great deal of irritation. Passed this small hiccup, Something’s Coming is a wild and enthralling ride into the lives of characters that could easily be a friend or neighbor, but live extraordinary lives with exceptional abilities. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author. I would recommend this novel to anyone that enjoys the paranormal, a romance, some combination of both, or Fiction in general. Just be prepared to want more when finished…I know I did.

~1~
She could sense something was coming. Never knowing what or who it was; was enough to drive someone less together over the edge. After it being a part of her life for as long as she could remember, she was used to it, or at least should be. Driving this late at night seemed to be the time when the feeling usually crept up if it was going too. She always assumed it was because her brain had so much time to wonder. If it wasn’t here, it was at night when she was lying in bed and should be sleeping. Oh well
she thought. I’m probably just being paranoid.
Shit, I guess I’m not being paranoid,
she sighed as she picked up her cell, knowing what was fixing to be said. Hey sis. Yeah, I got that feeling too. I was hoping I was just being paranoid. As soon as I heard your ringtone, I knew. Now what fun is being safe? Okay. I will. Don’t worry, I’m almost home. Just about another 10 minutes and I’m sure you’ll be hearing my car pull into my drive. Okay. Bye.
As she hung up the phone, her blood started to pump faster. She knew if her sister was feeling it too, then her hope of just being paranoid was crushed. Damn! And it was a good week.
Just as she was topping the last hill, she saw four pick-ups speed away from a lone standing car. Her first thought was that she had just interrupted a drug deal in process. Good, I hope I did. Freaking stupid druggies; way too many in this town.
As she got closer, she saw a limp figure lying on the ground next to the car. Well I can’t just drive on. Shut up. I know I should just keep going, but this person could be hurt,
she told her inner self.
She slowed, pulling the car behind the stranger’s vehicle. As she turned on her hazard lights, she grabbed her mace and flashlight out of the glove compartment. Putting the first into her pocket and turning the light on, she opened the car door. Walking closer she knew the figure was male and was definitely unconscious. By the amount of blood there was on the ground, she prayed that she could help this poor soul. Kneeling down next to him, she could see that the guys in the pick-ups left him for dead. Well I guess it wasn’t their day; not if I have anything to say about it.
If only she could get him into one of the vehicles, she could take him home. It was just a few hundred yards to her drive way. Standing up, she looked into his car and thanked the wonderful universe when she saw his keys still in the ignition. Opening the back door, she muscled up all the strength she could and shoved him in. Running back to her car, she grabbed her keys and was in the unfamiliar driver’s seat in no time. Darn this guy must have some long legs,
she said as she adjusted the seat. Pulling as close to the front door of the house as she possibly could, she jumped out and sprinted to unlock it. Turning the living room light, she threw the book and blanket lying on the couch onto the floor. Returning to the car, she pulled the man out as gently as she could. She dragged the dead weight across the stone pathway, and up the couple steps, hoping she wasn’t hurting him; heaving the top part of his body onto the couch, she grabbed and threw the legs up next. Well, that was fun,
she breathed. Grabbing her keys, she headed out the door. Taking the keys from his ignition and locking the doors, she walked down her driveway to retrieve her own car.
Looking up at the starry sky as she crunched along the gravel, she began to process what she had just done. Oh man. What have I gotten myself into? Any person with half a mind would have left him alone and just called the police. Oh well. What’s done is done. I just hope he doesn’t turn out to be an ax murderer or something,
she said to the darkness. As she got into her car and turned the key, another thought occurred to her, what if he was the something that was coming?
She just sighed, knowing that she had made her decision to help and no matter what the outcome was, it was the right thing to do. No human being should be left lying on a street to die; no matter what crimes or things that he may have done. It just wasn’t right. Slowly driving the short distance back to her house, she threw out a silent prayer to whoever was listening and asked that she was able to nurse him back to health, if nothing else.
Walking in the door she saw the adversity that still lay unmoving on her sofa. As she assessed the situation, she decided she had better gather her first-aid supplies. Grabbing everything and anything that she thought she could possibly need, she returned to the living room. Setting the first-aid supplies on the coffee table, she pulled it closer to the sofa before lowering herself onto it. Using the bowl of warm water and cloth that she was happy she had thought to bring, she began to wash the blood off his face.
After the first few strokes, she saw that it seemed to look worse than it truly was. Thank goodness. I think the injuries are more ominous then they are serious. But you’ll probably be sore as hell when you wake up. You must be a strong man. If you weren’t, there is no way you would have survived that attack.
She noticed that there was finally slight movement. If you can hear me, wow that sounds so odd when you actually say it out loud. But if you can, my name is Roxxi. I found you on the side of the road and I brought you here; into my home. You have been attacked. My guess by the jackasses I saw speeding off when they heard my car. I promise you’re safe here. I’ve almost got your face washed off, but I haven’t had a chance to tend to any of your wounds yet.
She rinsed out the cloth in the now red water and made another gentle sweep across his face. Oh,
he whispered.
I’m so sorry, if I’m causing any more pain. I just have to get you cleaned up, so we can get a good look at the damage. It doesn’t look extremely bad under the blood and dirt, but I’m not a doctor. I’m so relieved you’re starting to come around. You can tell me if you think we need to go to the hospital.
No. No doctors or hospitals. They never really help anyone anyway.
He tried sitting up. Damn. That’s not going to happen for a little bit. You weren’t kidding when you said I’d be sore.
For the first time he opened his eyes, as he laid back trying to relax again. They were the palest blue she had ever seen and she could swear there were flecks of what she could only call white gold close to the pupil. Knowing she could easily get lost in those gorgeous eyes, she shook her head. "You need to be still. I’ve got to go get some fresh water and I’m going to put some water on so I can make you
