    It is not an easy journey we undertake, this spiritual path to our ultimate reunion with God and each other, nor is it a short one. There's lots of misdirection,tangled paths overgrown with past confusions and dark unconsciousness. There are highwaymen who would rob you of your determination, fools who would mislead you, sirens who would ensnare you with their charms to keep you from your goal. Just knowing where you are going does not automatically get you there, and I personally expect to be traveling this road for a long time yet, as will most of us. But I hope some of the ideas in this book will help make the quest a little more reachable for us all.

      I've spent most of my adult life looking for the meaning of it - life - and although I've been blessed with a good deal of success in the search, it has not been without a good deal of painful mistakes as well. Most of the truths I have put into this little book are the result of that lifetime of search and discovery regarding what our place is in the universe, what our true relationship is to God and to each other, and what our final destination is to be. The process is ongoing, and new realizations - if not revelations - come to me almost every time I meditate. However I felt it was time to put these all out there and share them with others, in hopes they might help to advance - if not mankind, for I would not be that presumptuous - but even one individual's journey towards his or her highest goal.

      Think of this as a traveler's guide book, with not just descriptions of your destination but markers along the way, and hints on how to keep from getting lost.
