About this ebook

Anyone can become wealthy that is willing to follow the basic principles of industry and frugality; the two main pillars that stand the frame of prosperity. This is the core message of Growing Money Trees.

In the series of What I Want My Child To Know, this book is the third. It comes in six reader-friendly chapters. Each chapter begins with a key message; a success principle you need to know, then the steps you must take, and finally, a call to action.

Chapter one deals with the fundamental law of sowing and reaping, the natural way to generate the abundance seed; the so called start-up capital; how to plant it, nurture it, protect it, until it grows to become the fortune you always desire.

Chapter two gives you the basic mindset of all wealthy people; the thought pattern that attracts prosperity and opulence. It shows how greatness is attained and sustained, and the fact that you carry the capacity to become a legend in whatever career you pursue. It explains and illustrates the pathway to greatness.

Chapter three, the Miracle of Imagination, describes how you can form the mental model, the vision and conception of the kind of life you truly want. It shows the pain-free way to matriculate from poverty to prosperity.

Chapter four tells you how the forest is made up of many trees, and that, to become wealthy in the class of a billionaire, like the forest with a single tree, a single line of business is not adequate. It shows you how to start with one business, make it thrive without you, and then, you get the way to create many more businesses that grant torrential streams of income. You also discern the proven technique of multiplying your income without expanding your efforts.

Chapter five, the way to wealth, you will learn about the seven inspiring stages to financial freedom. You are then led to establish the stage you currently operate. Finally, you see the ascending stairs that take you onward and
upward to higher stages that hold better promise. You also get to enjoy the amazing Parable of climbers.

Chapter six puts all the earlier chapters together in a concise, memorable and practical manner that allows the core message to penetrate and invigorate. You walk away anew, refreshed and empowered.

    Acknowledgment

    Of all the books I have written, Growing Money Trees has profited from the greatest army of helpers, contributors and team members. This acknowledgment is necessarily the most challenging to write. Consequently, my approach will be very far from being perfect but will be simple, hearty and sincere.

    I begin by thanking God, and giving Him the glory for the entire work.

    One of the finest tributes this book will deserve shall derive from the quality and beauty of its foreword. In it, every sentence is a delight to read. The entire foreword, to me, is an ingenious compilation of literary excellence. It was authored by no less a personality than Her Excellency, Honourable Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State. Nigeria. I stay eternally grateful to Her Excellency for bringing such excitement to my heart, and such enrichment to the lives of my readers.

    I want to express a profound appreciation and gratitude to all the kind and thoughtful people that have contributed, in any way or form, to the success of this treatise. In particular, I thank Adedayo Temitope, Tokunbo DesMennu and Dr. Tayo Apampa, and all the authors and columnists who have impacted my life positively, especially those whose materials have formed the substance of this work.

    I appreciate my wife and best friend, Olubunmi Gbenuade, and my children Oluwaseun and Opeyemi for the love and meaning they bring to my life.

    I appreciate you all. I love you dearly

    God bless you richly

    Preface

    I congratulate you for getting a copy of this book. In it, you will discover all you need to know and do in order to manifest a fruitful life; a life of meaning and purpose; of genuine opulence and happiness. This is the unfailing promise! If you ever desire true wealth, you now hold the right tool.

    While wishing you the best of luck in this exciting adventure, let me remind you that this book is not a novel. You will, therefore, do well to accord the principles and their applications the measure of seriousness they deserve and demand. You get only by doing, not by knowing. The destiny of prosperity begins with its thought, like Emerson so vividly put it;

    "Sow a thought, you reap an act'; Sow an act, you reap a habit; Sow a habit; you reap a character;

    Sow a character, and then, you reap a destiny."

    I, therefore, strongly recommend that you sow today, sow tangibly, sow wisely and then take your seat with a comfortable knowledge that a bountiful harvest will follow by morrow.

    I thank you.

    Foreword

    Children could be wonderful. They have the innocent habits of wanting almost everything that catches their fancy, even when such things are not essential. While some parents make provision for such indulgencies, others simply don't. The quick reaction to the bugging demands of our children is that money does not grow on trees. It will not be hard for the kids to get the message right: you don't just pluck money like fruits, people work to earn a living. That is a way to restrain the excesses of childhood demands. As parents, we remember using such a method to escape the never-ending demands of our kids who may have no idea how hard we have to work and the coverage of our financial plan. The author of this book seems to think otherwise.

    Dr. Abib Olamitoye, as a father, will want to make an exception by telling his children and anyone who cares to listen, that money can indeed grow on trees and he says that without any magical intent. On a cursory look that may sound incredible, and funny; a closer examination of his submissions in this new book will, however, reveal deep truths.

    This book gives interesting explanations and illustrations that will make the readers see the strong connection between the natural law of sowing and reaping, wealth creation and multiplication.

    Dr. Abib, in my estimation, is proactive in this effort. He once wrote a book on what he wants his child to know about building a great life. I believe this is a sequel to that. I am very pleased that there are parents who are deeply concerned about the future of their children. It's also heart-warming that such people deem it fit to share this knowledge for the benefit of the larger society. If Dr. Abib, despite the rigour of managing a chain of medical hospitals among other engagements, could find time to pen down this commendable work, then no parent should have any excuse for failing in the duty of child training. We all owe our children the duty of instilling in them profitable habits that will make them better in the future. The scripture confirms this when it says: 'Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it'.

    Dr. Abib also stressed that most of today's celebrated icons started from childhood. The difference between the rich and the poor is really about cultivated values and orientation.

    Lest this book is considered as a tale for children, I would like to emphasize that its profound message and scope cut across all age grades. The content will naturally inspire change in reckless spending habit, signpost the road to elusive prosperity and bring about a rethinking in general attitude to life- A new attitude that there is more to life than the present, and that luck only favours the prepared. The author did a good mix in citing some of the leading authorities in the world of politics, management, science, leadership, many of whom had their success story initiated from cradle.

    You hold in your hand a treasure. I recommend that the book be made available to every home and
