About this ebook
The IELTS Speaking Module Book 2 is an essential resource for IELTS candidates preparing for the Speaking Exam. Most IELTS Speaking material fails to provide sufficient guidance about how to tackle specific questions and rarely offers detailed feedback on responses. This ebook aims to fill that gap.
All tasks and responses are specially written for this book and are not available elsewhere.
Its four main sections contain 32 Part One & 25 Part Three examiner questions, all accompanied by full candidate responses and notes, plus 3 full Part 2 Speaking Tasks with highly-detailed replies and commentary. The notes provide comprehensive guidance about how questions should be attempted and offer language models that candidates can replicate in their IELTS examination.
> Section One looks at Part One of the Speaking Exam and provides 32 examiner questions and candidate responses. Each response is followed by notes and comments on the response.
> Section Two provides 3 Part Two candidate talks on specific topics. Each 2-minute talk is followed by extensive notes and comments for each segment of the candidate’s response.
> Section Three presents 25 Part Three candidate responses and accompanying notes for examiner questions.
This second book for IELTS Speaking in the “Models for High IELTS Band Scores” series is specifically aimed at those who are serious about their IELTS exams and determined to reach their goal of going on to further academic studies or qualifying for entry to another country.

Things you need to be aware of in the Speaking Exam
All the responses in the book are very good to excellent. Here are a few examples of poor responses that could lose marks due to: incorrect tense use; not responding to the question asked; and, simple & repetitive language.
Common Mistake 1 - Incorrect tenses
* The candidate has confused tenses in the response. The examiner asked Do you live in..
, which means now, but the candidate used the past tense lived
and were living
to talk about the house - the university I go to
is correct, though. You will lose marks if your tenses (or any grammar) are not correct. The response must use tenses suitable to the question. Always ask yourself whether the question is about the past, the present or the future. Note also that the
