The Path To Enlightenment
()
About this ebook
Bruce Everett Miller has studied this matter for many years – not from the viewpoint of an ascetic who sits quietly upon a mountain-top contemplating his (or her) navel. But from the viewpoint of a both a Warrior and a Healer – A martial artist for most of his life who currently holds an 8th degree black belt in the art of Quan Li K’an – A soldier with 31 years in the US Army – A medic both in the Army and in civilian life having worked as a Physician Assistant in Psychiatry for the VA for over 25 years.
And his conclusion... The path to enlightenment is there, it’s not an easy path but it is there if you want to follow it...
Read his information packed book to discover:
• What works and what may not work (even if you do it for a lifetime).
• What is Zen and why ‘Zen’ may not be the answer for you.
• Why being selfless may not be the answer.
• Why fighting for what is good may not be the answer.
• What is this thing we call ‘Reality’?
• Your positive and negative energy aspects.
• A definition of ‘Enlightenment’.
• The Pillars of practice: Acceptance; Forgiveness; Understanding; Lust; Territorial Defense; Natural protection of children; Peace and Love.
And much much more...
Of course you ask, will reading this book lead me to ‘Enlightenment’? And the answer is a resounding NO!!! But reading this book AND putting into your life the thoughts and practices and (as clearly explained in the book) learning how to question and develop those same thoughts and practices may well do so...

And just what is the point of all this?
For those readers that are expecting hard science based writing like my other books, this is going to be a huge departure. This is not material based on proven scientific
studies or published articles.
Instead it is information that I have been taught and have learned during this life cycle to be true. This is what I believe. This is more than I can explain and more than science can quantify. This book is at times confusing and contradictory - there are reasons for that.
As a scientist, I can tell you that the fact that there is more to the universe than we can possibly quantify is not dismaying. Instead it gives me joy that we do not have the answers. That there are questions that we have not yet even learned how to frame, gives me hope that we will continue to grow.
The purpose of life is to learn … the path we choose is and should be complicated … But there are sign posts to guide us.
IF we look.
IF we are willing to see.
***************
The fact is that much of modern psychiatry is either dealing with people that have biochemical problems in their brains to the point that they can-not function well or teaching people how to accept themselves in ways that are functional.
So many people get in varying degrees of trouble because they can not deal with themselves to the point that it poisons the way they deal with everyone around them. These problems take on many names, but the real (and common) thread is the lack of inner acceptance. The lack of being ok with yourself.
Psychologists spend countless hours teaching people to relax and to avoid these self destructive thinking patterns that get them in trouble. They focus on teaching people not to perceive insults where none exist, to think about their actions before doing them and that they really are all right. The message is, that if you can relax and practice relaxing and accepting, then that feeling of internal hollowness and doubt will subside.
Buddhism – (just merely a tool) states that Right aspiration is the true desire to free oneself from attachment, ignorance, and hatefulness
So this book is simply about exposing some of the things that make it hard of you to understand the real rules of the game.
This is not a self help book. ONLY you can help yourself. This is merely something that I hope will get you to think about what is and what is not. To understand what drives us to do some of the things we do. To understand that in the end the goal of the game is not to collect outward symbols but instead inward acceptance and peace with yourself.
But to do that you have to understand what drives the game… And that is the interesting part.
Many are the circles which make up the whole.
The Beginning
In the beginning there was nothing. Then there was. The how is not the important thing because it changes nothing.
Many lives have been changed and lost because mankind has argued over who and when. I ask you this: Is the gift of life worth more than words?
If you have any doubt of that answer then you will not believe and there is no sense for you to go on, for you are already dead. You have already determined that the life you lead ends with your death, so what is the use.
For the rest of you:
If you fully realize the gift of life, you do not need to limit yourself simply to words or the expectations and definitions fed to you by others.
If you can answer that you don’t know, there is hope. And that is the real beginning.
Some would say that God existed forever. Others believe man created God. I ask you, what does it matter? In both cases God exists. Or doesn't ... it is the learning you do on the path you walk that is important.
For some there is a need for God to be all powerful; to be something they are not supposed to understand. Frequently, those are the same people who wish to put their own words in the mouth of God, using that barrier of unknowing to give credence to whatever they wish to preach.
I tell you this. God exists. This is enough.
You ask me how can I prove this? I will tell you what I know. You will have to decide what you accept. The point is that I can not judge you if you do not let me – only you can judge you
