The 7 Poems of Poverty is part of a collection of books created by Amanda Song. The young mind will be able to learn about poetry while reading about their favorite people or topics. This book is a little darker than the others but poverty is a serious issue and many children face it today, it's important they know they are understood. Teachers can grab their young ones attention by using examples of poetry that involve their interests. Students can impress their teachers by already knowing different styles of poetry. There are many styles in the collection, including Acrostic, Haiku, Cinquain, Sonnet, and even Sestina! Once students become acquainted with the different style of poetry, they will be able to identify where the author went outside the lines every now and then.

Amanda is the creator of “The 7 Poems of” series which includes many poetry styles for the young mind to explore using topics of interest they enjoy. When she isn't constructing new reading material, she is transporting students, raising a bunch of teenagers and working with music. She integrates real life experiences as well as motivational or inspirational people into her writing in hopes to capture what it all has meant to the world.
