Entrepreneurship: Economics Powered By Imagination
By Gary Stewart

About this ebook
Entrepreneurship is now clearly recognized as a significant driver of economic growth and societal welfare. Around the world, governments, businesses and individuals are increasingly focused upon education, training, and application of the various principles seeking to further their objectives and enhance the way in which we live.
Through this unique discussion, we present a novel framework for entrepreneurship consisting of:
• A process consisting of a stream of successes and failures --- where failure management becomes essential, and reinforces the notion of focusing upon our next success;
• A system which unites entrepreneurs, opportunities, and environments, through individual creative action, and fundamentally separates the identity of the entrepreneur from the identity of the firm;
• The ability to identify and unite human imagination with aspirations as the catalyst to driving favorable economic and social change.
With this novel framework we are all better equipped to ask new questions, create new approaches, and develop new solutions to improve our way of life.

WELCOME
Many people cringe at the idea of reading scholarly papers. It is definitely not for the faint-of-heart. Unusual words, lots of references, long sentences and abstract theories are the first obstacles that may come to mind. However, some of the most intriguing concepts regarding leadership, entrepreneurship, strategic thinking, innovation, creativity, education and philanthropy can be found in the works of prominent, and in many cases, world renowned scholars. In such a rapidly changing world, these concepts can be extremely useful in our personal and business lives.
Scholarly research and related papers contain hidden gems
shared among academics, but not widely read by the lay public due to their style, length and format. Instead of letting these hidden gems
remain unshared, I have chosen to bring them into the spotlight in easier-to-read formats.
This first book, in our series of adaptations, highlights entrepreneurship as an instrument of change, through the power of imagination, within our notion of economics. While some of you may immediately think that there is no room for imagination in economics, I urge you to read with an open mind. Dr. Sarasvathy beautifully describes a host of concepts which can profoundly impact the way in which we live and work.
I hope you enjoy this first book—and that you will gain some useful perspectives and actively make use of these ideas. The original manuscript has gone through significant revisions and updates to appeal to a broader audience, but it will still require a commitment of reflective time and energy on the part of the reader to truly gain new insights. Although the words on each page are presented in 2-dimensional space, this book provides a 3rd dimension to offer more scholarly readers the opportunity to dive-in more deeply.
Succeeding today and tomorrow requires us to always think and move forward. Challenge
