20+ years in Information Technology (IT) that spanned documentation writing, database management and PC and network administration came to an end in 2004 with the start of another recession. Bill found himself unemployable due to his age; becoming just another statistic that would raise the cost for a corporation’s group health care coverage. As job searches continued failing and just turned one frustration into another, he decided to apply years of problem analysis along with his writing ability to determine and describe the underlying problem that America faces today. It seems that he always had the ability to frame a rhyme in time, but could it be made meaningful enough to paint America’s deteriorating landscape? Finally deciding to see if others would understand the jeopardy that greed is inflicting on America that became apparent to him, he started to submit poetry and articles on an internet site where people could freely express their opinions - (http://www.helium.com/users/556782) and were rated accordingly. After minor success, he published “We The People Time” to launch a new career at Smashwords. This was followed by “80 Years + ? = Next Depression”, and “Common, Since 1776” is his latest endeavor. There is always more to learn and among other things, he is very grateful for the free online writing courses offered on the internet since he can no longer afford the cost for higher education. Hopefully, today will be a little better than yesterday, but never as good as the hope for tomorrow.

    Country

    Just Is

Rangel says you had better pay your taxes now,

I may write the tax law but just don't know how.

For evasion Richard Hatch sits in a prison cell,

While I can still ring my lofty freedom bell.

Charley says I'm ignorant of the laws I write,

But all you dumb people better get it right.

You might all go to jail instead of being free,

But as an elected official it doesn't apply to me.

Bernie Madoff played a $50 billion Ponzi scheme,

Separated hundreds from their money with his theme.

Couldn't pay the money but kept anyway out on bail,

How much more was hidden before going off to jail?

Pledge allegiance with liberty and justice for all,

What caused justice sinking to this low pitfall?

Lacking wealth or power must play by all the rules,

According to this justice WE are the motley fools!

Is justice for sale to those with money or power, where those with neither must surrender their time? Is justice even relevant without equality? Time is the most valuable resource that exists because once it passes; it is gone and can never be replaced. Harry Markopoulos testified that he tried to get the SEC (Security Exchange Commission) to investigate Madoff’s Ponzi scheme for 9 years. Should the SEC be investigated for aiding and abetting?

    Ear Whacks

An earmark is a politically correct name,

But embezzlement smells just the same.

Ten million dollars here or two billion there,

Do you even consider how the nation will fare?

A bridge to nowhere or other matters not,

WE the people gave the money that you got!

You've been entrusted with an obligation,

To spend that money to better the nation!

You spend the money for your personal gain,

Leaving the nation to deal with the pain,

As you spend it to get votes in your state,

    What
