DuLaBoo S14A: Review of Optimnen
Learning French is a challenging thing to do. People learning the language might find it difficult to comprehend if they did not start with the basics of French. Take for example the French class skit that Alec Baldwin did in Saturday Night Live. It was meant to be funny but it actually made a really great point. The students were struggling to speak French in class because the professor jump-started the lesson without introducing first the very basics of French.
Every French language material or resource meant for beginners should cover the basic of the language first. This is why when certain French tutorial websites like Optimnen stick to the basics and not immediately jumping to sentence constructions that range between upper-intermediate and lower-advanced, you can feel the relief knowing that some online tutors still make an effort to make you understand the foreign language that you are trying to learn. The home page of Optimnen’s French tutorial website made that clear.
Furthermore, when French instructional websites are complete with English translations and audio clips for pronunciation, you know that the webmaster exerted some effort to teach the language to you. Both visual aspects and audio aspects are met here: 2 common features I usually look for when checking the memory retention capacity of the language taught online. Since it was mentioned that the lessons taught here are as basic as they could be, jargon is eliminated among the words taught for better comprehension and understanding.
