      What's taking them so long? I want get this done before some busybody heroine spots us, Danica Solis said, frowning up at the cloudy night sky. She found comfort in the darkness of the alley, because super heroines couldn't see in the dark any better than anyone else. Word is that Ms Amazing, Midnight Avenger, and other heroines are out and about tonight.

      Don't worry, boss, Paulie said. The big, brutal man was her chief bodyguard and enforcer. The diversions you set up will keep them more than busy until we're done here.

      She wasn't worried. Danica always had backup. She glanced left and right, at the dark buildings flanking the alley. Even Paulie didn't know all of her security measures.

      Yes, Cynthia Gomez said. She was a pretty black-haired, brown-eyed Latina who'd recently worked her way up to Danica's personal assistant. Like Danica, she wore a leather mini-dress and stiletto pumps. Her outfit was red, while Danica's was purple. I just spoke to Eddy, and he said Ms Amazing and Amazing Girl are running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to figure out what's going on in River Downs. While Adolfo has Midnight Avenger and Catgirl fighting a street gang in an alley deep in the Tenderloin.

      They aren't the only costumed bimbos in this city, Danica said. Headlights appeared on the other end of the dark alley. They're here. Like I said, make it fast.

      The black SUV eased up the alley, coming to a stop just ten feet in front of Danica's Rolls Royce limo. Her driver flashed the headlights three times. The SUV answered with two flashes. At that Danica nodded and they slipped out of the limo.

      Hello, Simon, Danica said. She watched the tall blonde man place three suitcase on the ground between their vehicles. Paulie checked it, making sure the drugs were all there. With is nod, Cynthia placed a suitcase of money in front of Simon. I have to say, Simon, you make doing business almost too easy. It's been a pleasure.

      The pleasure's all mine, he said, and pulled a pistol. Halt! Police. Danica Solis, you are under arrest.

      Synne City Police? she said, raising her hands.

      Yes, Cynthia said, with a smug smile. Special Operations. We've been working long and hard to take you down, Danica.

      Danica was shocked. Her informants almost never missed an uncover sting operation. How they kept it a secret from her highly placed moles was beyond her, but Synne City's boss of bosses and head of the Solis Family would find out.

      Austin Rivers came out of the darkness. He was Simon's partner, so an undercover cop too. He was holding a gun on Paulie, who looked just as stunned as Danica.

      You have the same look on your face as that guy who got lobotomized in the movie we watched last night, Cynthia said. Yes, we outwitted you, Danica. You are about to trade in your designer clothes for an orange jumpsuit.

      Her comment reminded Danica of that movie, and her decision to see if it really worked. There was an ice pick in her handbag. Danica narrowed her dark eyes.

      You're not going to feel so smart once I'm finished with you, traitor, Danica said through clenched teeth.

      I don't think so, Simon said. We have a judge who will deny you bail, so you'll be in jail through your trial and beyond.

      It's over for you, Austin said.

      He was tall and darkly handsome. It was going to be a shame about him. Danica liked him best, but now she knew he was a filthy cop. And the worst kind of cop, an undercover cop.

      That's the problem with the Synne City Police, Danica said, smiling grimly. She lowered her hands. Besides being corrupt and incompetent, and thoroughly unprofessional, you continually underestimate me.

      Oh? Simon said, smiling so damned smugly. Then why are you our prisoner, and not the other way around?

      Point well taken, Danica said. Take them down!

      Popping sounds erupted from either side. All three undercover cops cried out, stiffening up with wide eyes, and collapsed before Danica's eyes. Paulie looked around, both surprised and pleased as familiar faces stepped out of the shadows.

      Tasers? Paulie said. Should've just gunned them down.

      Danica shrugged. I was more concerned with a super heroine attack. Tasers work on heroines, but guns don't. And as you can see, tasers work on cops, too.

      Do we kill them? Chucky said. He was another of Danica's team of bodyguard-enforcers. He wasn't the brightest man, but he was mean and vicious, and loyal to her.

      I have a better idea, she said. Drag them to their knees and hold them tight.

      All three cops were dragged up before Danica, in the bright light of the two vehicles' headlights. They were lined up on their knees from left to right: Austin, Cynthia, and Simon. Her dark eyes looked them over, waiting for them to regain their senses. They were all coming around quickly. Cynthia was first to realized the danger.

      The police know we're here, Danica, Cynthia said. If you kill us they will know it was you.

      What makes you think I care? she said, smiling cruelly. All three cops swallowed hard. Cynthia's lower lip started to tremble when Danica held up an ice pick. The beautiful Latina had witnessed Danica's cruelty before, so had a much better idea of what kinds of horrors Danica could commit. Best of all, she remembered the movie from the previous night. Come to think of it, I suspect you three won't care much about anything after I'm through with you.

      Don't do it, Danica! Cynthia said as the mob boss stepped up to her first. Please! Have mercy!

      Mercy? From me? Danica said, grinning. Paulie, hold her head back and very still.

      The big bodyguard did as told, and tears flooded Cynthia's face. Danica had did a little research on the internet after the movie, to see how they did it. Doctors once did it in their offices, without anesthesia. Should be safe enough. But then, if she messed up and killed them, oh well.

      Danica carefully pushed the point of the ice pick next to Cynthia's right eye, and slammed it in with a strike by the butt of her hand. Doctors used a hammer, but her hand was enough to drive the ice pick
