    The idea for this book came whilst attending a Thermomix demonstration. One of my friends was interested in purchasing a Thermomix because she works long hours and her weeknight meals consists of packet mixes, jars of sauce and ready-made meals for ease and speed. She only cooked from scratch on Sundays. It got me thinking. Part of the Thermomix demonstration included information about how fast it is to create meals that are healthier because they can contain no preservatives, colours or other additives – you know exactly what goes into each meal. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, that really appealed to me. I am always telling my clients that along with exercising regularly, they need to cut their salt, saturated fat, and simple sugar intakes. I am a big fan too, of knowing what goes into my meals, but often feel time poor or too lazy to make something from scratch. So I thought I would do a few comparisons. My book was born.

    The main aim of this book is to show my clients, and potential Thermomix owners, that preparing meals at home doesn’t have to be time consuming or expensive, and can almost always be healthier than buying the pre-made versions at the supermarket.

    To that end, this is not a recipe book. Although it does list ingredients, I want people to be able to see quickly and easily, a few comparisons between commercially
