About this ebook

No author wants to spend hours in promoting their work. They would all rather be working on the next project. Most indie authors are beyond broke and can't afford the endless demands for money from promotion hawks.

Here is a work by Gunnar Lawrence that will help an author promote their work with less time, less money and with better results.

The methods are proven. Do what he says and you WILL get promoted.

Promoting Your Book on Facebook & Twitter Second Edition - Gunnar Lawrence

OTHER BOOKS BY GUNNAR A. LAWRENCE

    FAIR PLAY

    THE PERFECT DAY

    THE CONSORTIUM (due 2015)

It’s a book on how to promote your book, what’d you think I was going to put here?

    INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this little book is to pass on just a little of what I have learned about promoting my books on Twitter and Facebook. I am no expert, in fact, you might even consider me superbly qualified on how NOT to promote books. I spent over six months in Twitter jail because I was following over 2000 different people and only had 997 followers myself. In Twitter jail, there is no reprieve, no parole, and no pardon. There you remain until your followers out pace your followees.

Beginning authors make several mistakes in promoting their books and one of those mistakes (yes I have made the mistake too) is to follow those who won’t lead to more readers, more sales. Some beginning authors even deem Twitter a waste of time. Let me clear that up now. It is not.

But it takes time. You need that time as an author to build a following. Sometimes it may take years. Giving up on it because it doesn’t yield immediate results is like unpublishing your book 24 hours after it is published because there were no sales that day. You can’t do that. Patience is a virtue. And work. You can’t open up a social media account and expect readers to flock to your next work.

Another mistake they make is on Facebook. They follow or ‘like’ any book, blog or reader themed page and begin a massive spamming effort by posting reviews or links sometimes eight or nine at a time.

    On.

    Every.

    Single.

    Page.

I have done this too. When I first started.

It doesn’t help. In fact, by doing this it pisses off more people than it does attract sales or readers. It’s okay, there is a better way.

Now if you are a book blogger, first off, thank you very much for what you do. Second, these techniques will work for promoting your blog, too. We’ll talk about that later. So, here it is, everything you will need to join Team Gunnar and begin the process toward getting the following you need.

    INTRODUCTION TO SECOND EDITION

Imagine my embarrassment when I learned that on the very day I released this humble little book that one of the key tools that I use (AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE) to promote my books and the books of others, Gremln.com had decided to do away with the $6.00 a
