    Growing up in the prairies in Canada, my family loved to cook and have many family get together’s with a lot of potluck dinners. When I was little, my grandma used to love teaching my how to cook and bake. Our favorite together was baking apple pies. Our family sure loved our baking. All the recipes in this book are what I grew up with and have enjoyed. I thought I would share these so that families could create their own memories..

    Salads, Dips, Sauces and Snacks

    Fruit Salad

    1 package of fresh strawberries

    3 bananas

    1 bag of red or green grapes (your choice)

    cinnamon

    ½ cup of apple, orange peach juice

    vanilla ice cream

    Slice strawberries, chop the 3 bananas and add grapes together in a large sized bowl. Sprinkle cinnamon over the fruit to your desired taste. Add juice to the fruit. Let soak in fridge for 2 hours. Can be served on vanilla ice cream or on its own.

    Coleslaw

    ( larger sized portion for family gatherings)

    1 head of green cabbage (raw)

    2 medium red onions

    2 carrots

    ¾ cup white sugar

    DRESSING:

    1 cup white vinegar

    2 tsp prepared mustard

    2 tsp celery seed

    ¼ cup white sugar

    1 cup
