Cake Pops: An Introduction
Cake pops are visual treats that do not only bring happiness to the taste buds but also to the eyes. Cake pops are basically made from cake crumbs mixed with cake frosting and coated with your desired frosting. What gives them their name is that lollipop sticks are inserted on cake pops in order to make them into chewy cake lollipops.
These lovely treats are very popular on all types of occasions and they are not only loved by children but also by adults. Cake pops are almost the same as cake balls but didn’t you know that they were just recently invented by a certified foodie named Angie Dudley in 2011? Also known as Baker Ella, she reinvented the simple cake ball but putting it on a stick and experimenting with many shapes and design thus the cake pops were born. Although similar with cake balls, cake pops are more appealing and come in with more designs that make them very whimsical and artistic treats that you can pop in your mouth easily.
Cake pops are not intended to replace traditional cakes but they just add appealingly designed deserts to the sweet table. Cake pops are perfect for everyone as they are small and bite-sized. Moreover, eating them does not require slicing the cake as you can just pop the entire cake inside your mouth especially if they are small.
