      Such a fun, interactive read that I imagine will become more fun as little e gets older and wiser.

      Book #2 is It's a Tiger! written by David LaRochelle and illustrated by Jeremy Tankard. (When reading out loud to a kid make sure that you always read the title at the start and the finish as well as give credit to the author and the illustrator. #protip) This story has super bright colors and tells the tale of a little boy who is just minding his own business when A TIGER!! appears. Before the turn of each page, the reader (and listener) are left in anticipation of a tiger attack. It's ridiculous and fun and a great excuse to get your little readers involved by asking them questions and having them scream out IT'S A TIGER with you.

      We're a bit too old now for this type of books, at four, but it's a great read aloud for toddlers and up. The graphics are what would make this book memorable to me, they have a very interesting texture, or lack of texture maybe more precisely. Some sort of plastic quality to them, even with the brush strokes. Cool!

      This is very similar in tone to "More Bears", but shorter. I might try this out for pre-school story time.

      SUMMARY: In this book you go on an adventure with the little boy that wants to tell a story. When the boy starts his story he notice a tiger, so you have to run with the little boy, to get to safety. Everytime the boy thinks everything is safe , you spot the tiger again. Eventually the little boys realizes the tiger wants to be friends, so he starts to tell the tiger a story...PERSONAL REACTION:I love this book! It is so fun to read, my 2yr old LOVES when I read this book. Even though he knows what to expect on the next page it still gets him excited.CLASSROOM EXTENSIONS:1.) Make the book interactive. During story time, the children can stand and be ready to move around. Through out the book the little boy and you are running from a tiger, it describes different actions and as it does the whole class can do them with the little boy.2.) Tie the book into a social studies lesson plan. The book offers many different locations and animals associated with the jungle. Discuss with the class what kind of other animals they might find, let them create a jungle scene with some off the animals talked about.

      Very fun read! My toddlers loved roaring every time they saw the Tiger. Interactive, exciting, and quick read that kept the attention of both my 2 year old and my one year old.

      SO STINKING CUTE. This is a perfect read-aloud for storytimes--just make sure to get the kids standing up so they can RUN and SWIM FOR IT along with you.

      If you have older kids or if you've read it before, invite the kids to raise their hands or touch their noses or something if/when they see the tiger on each page. Otherwise, you'll get a whole crowd of pointed fingers on your book while you're trying to read and act surprised.
