About this ebook

Ethan has spent his entire life hiding violent urges from his family. They think he’s just antisocial; what they don’t know is he struggles every day against his growing desire to kill. Hoping a change of scenery will help, he escapes to Bermuda to join Isabelle and Stefan.

He’s not expecting Emma to walk into his life and give him the first peace he’s known in years. However, the solace he finds with her is soon shattered when someone from Emma’s past returns to claim her. When Emma’s life is threatened, Ethan realizes the only way to protect her is to give in to the brutal nature he’s fought so hard to contain.

Is the promise of eternity with Emma enough to save him from the demon within, or will he be lost to his savage nature forever?

As the synopsis says, Sera is traumatized by her past, she keeps the opposite sex at arms length and doesn't want anything romantic with any guy in the foreseeable future. Then she sees Liam across the room surrounded by females all over him vying for his attention and she became unwittingly entranced with him and he's staring at her not even noticing the girls in-front of him.

Liam sees Sera talking to a friend and his attention was centered on her to his surprise he finds himself bewildered by her. Liam was an enigma, who he really was was such a secret (already knew, but the buildup was still interesting).

When an inevitable relationship between Liam and Sera began I was afraid of what her reaction would be when she finds out what he his, since understandably her relationship with Liam was a very tentative one. Liam was very sweet and patient with her, it was obvious to anyone that something really bad happened to Sera in the past and Liam noticed that right away. Sera is a lot stronger than she first came across and it helped a lot that Liam was so gently with her, it also helped that Sera could see that.

This was an interesting vampire story for me, haven't read many that took place on a college campus and with so many vampires in one place too. It was nice to see Sera and Liam's relationship progress and strengthen. When Sera and Liam's group was whisked away to a more secluded location, the story was prime and ready for the villain to intervene and that's when the story got even more interesting and the action began. Awakened had a good group of characters and personalities with a sweet and a little dirty love story.

Awakened is the first book from the Vampire Awakening Series and it is written by USA Today bestselling author Brenda K. Davies. This is a book where a guy meets a girl. Girl has a secret and tells it on their first date. Boy is a vampire, but we are 80% in the book until it’s mentioned (even though title clearly states it, and you keep expecting it to happen). When secret is told - boy gives girl a choice to escape. Girls chooses to stay, and boy becomes possessive because he wants her too much. Then he does something to her, kind of against her will. And then they live happily ever after. If I was a few years younger, I would have loved this book, probably because I wouldn’t have noticed all the glitches in it. But right here, right now - I didn’t enjoy it as much I wanted too. Strong, sexual language and sex scenes can be found throughout the book. This was a book from my sister Tea’s Wishlist Challenge - and I was embarrassed to tell her I am reading this book - because I knew what kind of scenes she has read…Apart from that - the characters were unrealistic. And unlikable. I liked their friends and their enemies more than I liked the main characters. Sera - a girl that doesn’t talk to men, and has her own opinion on things, suddenly meets this guy, and he becomes possessive of her, and her character development stops right here. She keeps nodding at him, and obeys his every command. Not much of a heroine, is she? Liam - a guy that is actually a vampire, but doesn’t tell Sera until things get really serious. He lies to her, is possessive, wants to kill everyone that touches her, and loves her and wants her so much that he has to turn her into a vampire, otherwise he’ll kill her. Really? Now, if we take the fact that this is a vampire book - firstly, we don’t get to read about vampires until the book is almost finished. And when we do, it is unfinished, and barely even described. I don’t know anything about the way they become vampires, how they survive in the world, how they feed, how they die, but apparently, they can have children, so I guess the author covered everything. Oh, and, also - vampires can walk into the sun, but the more they kill, the more the sun hurts them. So believable - and FAIR. The only thing that I liked was the ending - the point about how children are possible seemed to have worked out well. Not believable, but it was nice to see that as a theory. And it was also a great layout for the next story to come - which I will be reading, just to see if this writing will improve. What is your favorite vampire book?

I was a little apprehensive about this book in the beginning. The whole idea of falling in love in a few days isn't something I like. But I kept reading this book because Liam intrigued me. Liam only has eyes for one woman, Sera. Everything that comes with that revelation is exciting. There's fantastic sex, deep feelings, and danger.Where it lost one star was the use of the incorrect "too/to" one too many times.

I like books with a soulmate storyline and this one has been added to my collection. A couple of additions to the plot i.e. the aggression factor but overall the book keeps to one of my all time favorite themes.
