Introduction
Writing and publishing an eBook is much easier than you think. Anyone, with a bit of patience and willingness to learn, can do it. If it is your intention to write and publish a book of your own, purchasing this eBook was a step in the right direction.
In this book I will walk you through how to publish your ebook on Amazon.com, iTunes, Barnes and Noble, and many more sites. The process is easy the second time you do it. The first time can be tricky and require some experimentation, but it is my hope that this book will greatly minimize any problems you may face.
I will also discuss the process of writing eBooks. I will do my best to show you the range of possibilities that are out there, and to encourage you to find your voice.
The Idea of a Book
The first thing I want you to do is to look at the concept of a book
differently. The book
concept needs to be demystified.
Strike the notion from your mind that your book has to be a certain length to be publishable. Nothing is further from the truth. A book doesn’t have to be a 200+ page document that is a scholarly work or a classic-style novel. Many eBooks, if not most, are much shorter works. Most of my published eBooks are between 8,000 and 10,000 words. A traditional book would be in the 60,000-100,000+ word range. At least one of my eBooks is under 4,000 words, and has made me hundreds of dollars while garnering good reviews. A book can be any length you want it to be.
You don’t need any credentials or a certain educational background to write a book. Most eBooks published today are written by normal people that don’t have a bunch of letters after their names. I know a stay-at-home single mom without a college degree that is making a living by writing and selling eBooks. She writes about what she knows, which is living simply on a shoe-string.
That is the key. What is most important is the knowledge you have. Everyone is an expert on something, or has the potential to become an expert on something. I have no doubt that you have some knowledge that I don’t have, and
