      A cute story about a chick who wants to be just like his favorite super hero, Super Pug. When Chick comes across a real pug he follows him around wanting to see Super Pug in action while all Pug wants to do is sleep.

      Impressionable young Chick lives for adventure and hopes to find it with a farmyard pal- sluggish, yet doggedly-patient Pug. Through determination- and finally inspiration, Chick finds the action the hero-lover has been searching for. Bright, full-page acrylic and colored pencil illustrations humorously portray the action (or inaction) of the cartoony anthropomorphic characters with a layered depth that expressively conveys varied reactions. Story time listeners from pre-kindergarten through second grade will cheer along with Chick’s single-minded goal to inspire the reluctant Pug to engage in some sort of heroic deed. Printed in a simple and easy to read font with few words per page, this engaging picture book is also accessible for first grade and up readers. Emotive dialogue encourages the read-aloud listener to actively participate in the funny characters slapstick actions. In the hands of an enthusiastic reader, this pleasing story of familiar farmyard characters and inadvertent heroism will make children laugh out loud.
