- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Bechos i like the book you Know
I like it ok - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an extended version of the classic poem and nursery rhyme, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. The rhyme and familiarness of this book would be best suited for children still learning to read, or even just a read-aloud book. At the back is a piano score if children want to learn how to play the song on the piano as well.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Summary: This story is about a young lady who makes a wishes to fly to the sky and meet a twinkling star. The little star takes the girl on an adventure through space exploring the planets and looking down on earth sneaking peaks into the lives of others. The girl returns home to the comfort of her bed and continues to look up at the magical star. Personal Reaction: I really, really enjoyed reading this book. Almost every child can tell you the first verse and I didn't know there were so many others to go along with it. The story is easy and fun to read. The pictures take you on an adventure right along with the rhyming story. Extension Ideas: Have students make their own wish upon a star. To go along with their wish, have students write the adventure they would go on if their wish really can true. Have the students start with the first verse of this story and then complete another verse or two using their own creativity. Encourage students to share their poems with the class.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is a poetry book. It starts with the famous song “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” One element of poetry that this book has is narrative. This book tells a story about a girl who goes into the sky with the star. This is also a Lyric poem because it can be sung with the song “Twinkle, Twinkle…” I thought this book was delightful. The pictures are rich with night time colors. I thought it was witty how the words all fit to the song “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star…” I also like how it shows the planets. Before reading this book, sing the song Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. As your reading you can have the children point to the star on the page. This book would go good with the space theme or a night time theme.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I simply adore this book! I didn't realize there were so many verses to this song, but perhaps the author added some of her own verses? Perhaps. Anyways, the pictures are beautiful, full of wonder and delight - just like the song.
