Michael Hetherington L.Ac, BHlthSci, is a qualified acupuncturist, Oriental medicine teacher, and yoga teacher based in Brisbane, Australia. He has been practicing yoga since 2000 and working with Chinese medicine since 2004. He has a keen interest in mind-body medicine, energetic anatomy, nutrition and herbs, yoga nidra and Buddhist style meditation. Michael was always attracted to eastern philosophy and it was this interest that drew him to the teachings and practices of yoga and Oriental medicine at a young age. After traveling to China to teach English for a year, he returned to Australia in 2004 to begin studying Chinese medicine, remedial massage and practicing oki-do (Japanese yoga) and hatha yoga more seriously.     The Origins of this Book

    It was mid 2011 and there I was, teaching about 10 yoga classes a week. At this point, I had been actively teaching yoga in this kind of capacity for a period of 3 years. While I was enjoying the practice of teaching yoga, as well as enjoying the act of spreading yoga and its message to hundreds of people per week, I was finding myself exhausted at the end of most days, and sometimes, I would dread going out to each studio to teach.

    At this point, I really began to question the fact of why I was so exhausted after teaching yoga?

    I had been following everything I had ever been taught, I was eating a healthy diet, sleeping well, and practicing a tremendous amount of yoga. But, still I wondered, why was I so exhausted at the end of each day?
