Prologue
by Randi Alexander
In ancient history, the very day our species realized there was a surplus of food for them to eat was the day dieting
was invented. Well, you might not find that in textbooks, but I can imagine Neanderthal man patting his gut and wondering how long it had been since he’d seen his penis.
If you’re like me, you’ve tried a dozen diets—from weekly meetings where each participant weighs in to all-liquid protein powder diets, to low-calorie cookbooks that feature recipes so complicated the preparation left the dieter too exhausted to eat once the meal was ready. I’ve had prepared food delivered, I’ve taken supplements that claim to melt away the fat,
and I even tried a hypnotist.
Why didn’t anything work?
For me, the one thing lacking in the healthy-living portion of my life is discipline. Heck, I am so disciplined with my writing, I can get ten thousand words on a page in one day if I’m under deadline. Keeping the house in order? I’m strict with myself on my cleaning regimen. I have excellent self-discipline with my schedule as well. But healthy eating and regular exercise? Zero discipline there.
That’s when the idea came to me to try something completely different than anything I’d been doing. Something with a lot of... discipline! And who better to provide the perfect format for this than my friends, the polyamorous Alexanders?
I’d had the privilege of sitting next to them at book signings in the A
section, and I’ve never met a more loving, intelligent, and fascinating family. When I suggested they consider writing a book combining weight loss with BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, Sadism, Masochism), they were more than excited, and jumped in with breathtaking enthusiasm. I knew their knowledge and experience would be invaluable to me and to other dieters looking for a unique and innovative lifestyle change.
So why is this diet different from others? While rewards and punishments are nothing new in dieting, the BDSM weight loss program features aspects that will make the process more binding (the contracts), more stimulating (setting weekly rewards and punishments), more flexible (goal setting based on your life schedule), and more supported (your BDSM partner).
And speaking of support, as we work through this program together, you’ll have plenty of help. We'll connect with you to share our successes and failures, as well as ideas, diet tips, and encouragement.
I am excited to begin this new and innovative concept, and I hope this this book becomes more than just a diet guide for all of us. It can be a life-changing path to increased health, happiness, and sensual satisfaction. Let’s do this together!
Chapter One
The Alexanders
When Randi Alexander approached us with her idea to do a BDSM diet book, we couldn’t believe no one (including us) had thought of this before. It was a brilliant idea, and a natural outgrowth of the BDSM and power exchange lifestyles. We're very grateful to Randi for inviting us to be part of this project.
Before jumping into the meat, if you will pardon the pun, of the program we would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves and share why this project is so important to us. As Randi mentioned before, we are what she called the polyamorous Alexander family. Now, to many of you that may not make any sense, so let's bring you up to speed. We live a non-traditional lifestyle. We are a polyamorous quad, which means there are four of us in a committed, loving relationship together. We have been active members of the BDSM and power exchange communities since 2006. Our family consists of Reggie Alexander, Treena Wiles, Kasi Alexander and Eva Alexander.
To one degree or another we are all in a relationship with one another. We do not swing or date outside of the four of us and we are as committed to one another as any traditional two-person relationship. We just happen to believe that we are capable of loving more than one person at
