Ladies’ Zipper Handbag
THE LADIES’ handbag here discussed has many possibilities, such as are shown in Fig. 114. The upper purse in this figure might easily be considered an underarm bag because of its snap-button closing.

To have an effective zipper opening, it will be necessary to study the operations in making a thong in order to plait the thong. This type of pull adds appreciably to the ease with which the bag may be opened and closed.
Fig. 115 shows the handbag with the zipper recessed and hidden from view.
The upper handbag in Fig. 114 takes on added interest when constructed from alligator skin, which, because of its embossed effect, needs no tooling.

HANDBAG ACCESSORIES
(Fig. 2)
These three accessories, a double compartment purse, note book cover and a cheque book wallet, are valuable contributions to the contents of any handbag. The patterns are simple to make up and little material is required; in fact left over odds and ends can often be used.
Notice that the making up procedure is dealt with on an individual basis as some important differences occur in this sequence of operations.
