About JT
Dr. Farkas: Part I
Abigail Andrews is a phlebotomist who has terminal leukemia. The good news is that her oncologist, Dr. Jakob Farkas, might be able to heal her, since (he claims) he's a vampire! But there's one small hitch, tired of his lonely existence, Farkas has not fed in over 100 years and needs to be brought back to health before he can help Abigail, with whom he has fallen in love.
Abigail doesn't believe the crazy doctor's story, but she doesn't have much else going on at the moment besides dying. So she leaves her boring life in order to join Dr. Farkas on his travels around the world in search of a mystical cure.
As they await the arrival of the spring equinox in the legendary caves in Lascaux France, Abigail wonders if she can overcome the greatest obstacle to her cure: her mortality.
Blood Work: Dr. Farkas Part II
Newlyweds Jakob and Abigail lead an active social life: they party late into the night in after-hours dance clubs, devour tasty amuse bouches, and travel the world seeking fun and adventure. Life is good, until one day when Abigail starts throwing up. Not a life-threatening issue, unless you're a vampire.
When Abigail's mysterious illness spreads to Jakob, and then threatens an entire lineage of vampires, the couple is summoned to old Quebec City to meet with Jakob's maker. Abigail is introduced to Dieudonnée de Lourdes and quickly finds herself caught between a lethal illness and a jealous, vicious vampire.

Hate
My name is Dieudonnée de Lourdes.
I was born in France in 1645. Antoine Godeau, the Bishop of Grasse, a close personal friend of maman and papa, officiated at my baptism and brought me into the Church. This happened back in what I think of as the Dark Times, before the discovery of electricity. Unlike today, where this whole twenty-first century world is filled with light and heat, once upon a time only fire could dispel the darkness – and warm one's blood.
These are the things I have been throughout my long life: a French-born lady; a captive of the Iroquois, who bought and traded me like corn. I've been in love and I've been married, though not to the same person, and I've been a killer. I've also been a friend of the Sun King and a servant of the King's Daughters; and I've suffered the losses of a refugee in a new land.
On a foreign battlefield I fought against the English. I once was lost, found and saved.
Then damned again to the night, as I reigned over some of its creatures.
I don't know what the future holds for me, but I am open to the ever-changing life-force that spins our little planet. I write this memoir during my new master's (so unfair!) banishment to my beloved Quebec City.
Abigail Andrews. The very name sends me into a fit of rage.
For those who are late to the party, Abigail is the upstart matriarch of the line of Mallin, a handful of vampires who must obey this opportune queen's every whim. She's also married to one of my first turnings and the true love of my life, Dr. Jakob Farkas.
God, I hate her.

What you are about to read is my story, written in my own words. I make no apologies for what I am or what I have done, although I would certainly welcome a few apologies – if only to begin to redress some of the injustices I have endured through these lifetimes of suffering.

France, 1663
I looked at Gilles on bended knee, so sweet, so formidable, so . . . mine. He held my hand, waiting for my reply to his question, Would I marry him?
Of course I would. Alas, even though my soul could hardly contain my joy, I felt no need to rush my answer. His hand grew clammy and after the prolonged silence, my soon-to-be fiancé Gilles Mansard finally raised his head to search my eyes.
I tried to maintain a serious expression, but the growing excitement and joy brought about by his proposal was tearing me apart inside. I would soon burst if I did not voice my answer. The corners of his mouth curled at the
