      Biology is a study of life.  The study can be examined at different levels — from organism level to organ level or cellular level, or any level we want to define.  Each level of description can reveal different embedded systems.  Each of these systems can be interpreted as functioning at different levels.  Collectively, they produce the behavior we observe in the life forms we know on earth.  These systems improve gradually in the evolutionary process driven by random variations in microscopic scales, yet the resulting end-products are gradual adaptation to the environment that may increase their survivability.  This process results in the variations in species that exhibits as diversity in the biological
