    Dedication.

This book is dedicated to Teresa Stopar. The busiest person on my Facebook page and the main reason this book came about.

    Chapter 1

SparkleGirl woke when she heard the first crump of an explosion. They were back, like she knew they would be. Teleporting to the armory she found Herobrine appear a second behind her.

Don’t say it, Herobrine said grabbing a sword and testing it with a few twists of his wrist.

Never crossed my mind, SparkleGirl smiled.

You know I hate it when you’ve got that smug smile on your face, Herobrine said scooping a handful of potions and putting them in his inventory.

    What did you hear that?

SparkleGirl turned and found a wheezing Yeri coming in the door.

What do you think? SparkleGirl said holding a sword.

You were right, Yeri said, you said they’d be back.

I did, didn’t I? SparkleGirl said and smiled as Herobrine cast his eyes skyward. I said they’d be back. Those reptilians don’t know when to give up and move on.

What do you want me to do? Yeri asked.

You stay here, Yeri, Herobrine said. If you want to make yourself useful, take a bow and stay on the high wall. Aim for anything that tries to break in.

    Gotcha, Yeri replied.

    Ready old man? SparkleGirl smiled.

Oh to be young and foolish, Herobrine answered her with a smile. Watch your back out there.

Hearing another booby trap go off, SparkleGirl turned her head in that direction and held up her hand to silence him. Looks like they’re coming in from the beach on the east side. Ready?

I was born ready, Herobrine smiled and took her hand. Let’s give our guest’s a welcome they won’t forget. Sending his mind to the location of the last explosion Herobrine and SparkleGirl teleported away.

Reappearing on the beach, Herobrine and SparkleGirl looked at the raiding party that were coming ashore.

Guess they hadn’t as many volunteers this time, SparkleGirl said, looking at the number of boats coming ashore filled with reptilian players.

And that’s a face we haven’t seen in a while, Herobrine said. Rackta, isn’t it?

Could be, they all look the same to me now, SparkleGirl said. I’ll give it to him, he’s brave. Coming here after what happened to Ratburn and Chelka.

Idiot, more like, Herobrine said looking in the player’s direction. I think I’ll go say hello.

I’ll stay here and do something about those boats, SparkleGirl said and took out her bow. Waiting until Herobrine had gone, she turned her attention to the nearest boat and launched her first arrow. Watching it explode, she smiled as everyone looked it in direction in shock. You’re not the only one with a few tricks up your sleeve, SparkleGirl smiled and loaded another TNT tipped arrow into her bow. Letting it go at the nearest boat she found that the reptilians weren’t impressed by what she was doing. Ducking her head at the first arrow that came at her, SparkleGirl teleported to safety just as the surrounding sky was filled with arrows.

Standing on the high wall, Yeri surveyed the battle unfolding in front of him. Like a spectator in the best seat he watched as Herobrine and SparkleGirl worked through the group. Appearing and disappearing he watched them cut down player after player and felt envious of them. Picking the closest reptilian player to him, he fired his bow and watched as his arrow fell short.

Aw come on, Yeri groaned and loaded his bow again. Releasing his arrow he watched as it too fell far short of its target.

Sit on the wall, he said. Pick off anyone who tries to break in, he said. As if that’s going to happen, Yeri said to himself and put down his bow. Feeling frustrated at being so close and yet so far from the action, Yeri stood and watched. Was this what Emman did, he wondered. Standing high on a wall, safe from harm, or would he be down there in the fight making a difference. Yeri presumed it was the later. He hadn’t known the player much, but from what stories he’d heard from Herobrine and SparkleGirl he knew the player would be in the thick of it. Playing that thought over in his mind, he came up with a plan. All he really needed was to get just a little closer. Once he had the reptilians within bow range he could take out one or two and be back before anyone noticed. Plus he’d be helping Herobrine and SparkleGirl, nothing too reckless, he thought. Happy with his plan of action Yeri ran down the stairs that led to the courtyard below and opened the main gate.

Standing outside the main gate and closer to the action, Yeri could hear and smell the battle in progress. He’d smelt enough TNT in his mining days to know its scent, the noise though, was another matter. Never having seen much action, apart from the beating Calihan had handed out, the shouting and screaming made him wonder if he was doing the right thing. Now in two minds of what to do, he thought that maybe some self-talk might make a difference.

Come on you chicken, Yeri teased himself. "After all that SparkleGirl and Herobrine has done for you. It’s the
