Cognitive Behavior Therapy - Nathan Bellow
Why You Should Read This Book
Cognitive behavioral therapy might not be your first choice to rectify your depression, your anxiety, or your various mental disorders. In fact, your first choice might be simply to stay in your bed for the rest of your life or avoid work forever. Your first choice might be to cut ties completely with everyone you’ve ever known and spend the rest of your days eating ice cream and watching Netflix.
But you don’t have to do that. You are no longer a slave to your negative thoughts and fears. You are a very real person with very real goals—no matter the fact that you can’t, currently, see those goals clearly. You can’t really view yourself in a positive light. Prepare yourself for a new future.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a new formation of therapy that allows you to initiate a better understanding with your brain. If you feel like you’re consistently at the mercy of your brain; if you feel like your depressions, anxieties, eating disorders, and substance abuse requirements are degrading your life and pushing you into cycles of continuous inability to succeed, this book is essential. You can train yourself to fight the cycle of your brain. You can become a better, newer version of yourself.
But you can’t do it without understanding the specific techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy. You can’t do it without recognizing precisely how first to analyze your thoughts and the various behaviors you have in relation to those thoughts. You can’t begin the process without first recognizing which elements currently pollute your life. This book fuels you with the understanding of what anxiety is, how to recognize depression, how to understand eating disorders, and how to view the various formations of substance abuse. From there, it teaches you to rectify these very real emotional and behavioral issues.
Get up and out of your bed. Put down the ice cream. Train your brain to fight back against these poor cycles of behavior, and reach toward a better, more vibrant future. You deserve it.
