Introduction
I want to thank you and congratulate you for downloading my book, Simply Easy Oriental Chinese Cook Book.
First a little about myself.
I am a grandmother of 4 grown up daughters and 6 beautiful grandchildren. I have been a family cook for as long as I can remember. I love cooking and love to watch my family enjoying and savoring the dishes. As a Malaysian Chinese, my cooking style is somewhat influenced by a tinge of Malaysian flavor. I hope you will find this refreshing and exciting.
I believe that anyone can cook. It is extremely easy to prepare a meal the Chinese way. Chinese cooking is healthy and fast. It does not consist of a lot of oil or fat. For example, stir frying is great for cooking vegetables as the quick cooking process prevents loss of nutrients. In fact, if you are tired of eating steamed vegetables for health reason, try stir fry. It gives you a whole new way of enjoying your vegetables. Chinese cooking is truly great if you are trying to lose weight or want to lead a healthier lifestyle.
If you have eaten Chinese food in the restaurant or take away, you will notice that most Chinese food is laden with MSG (Mono-sodium Glutamate) to enhance the flavors. I do not agree with using any food additives or enhancers as what we should enjoy is the authentic and natural taste of the food. You will find that my recipes use only natural ingredients. Feel free to experiment with the recipes. If you feel that you like stronger taste, do add more sea salt or natural seasonings. Chinese recipes are quite flexible. You will not ruin a meal if you make a little change to suit your taste buds.
