    •Lion Brand Yarns Hometown USA super bulky (super chunky) weight acrylic yarn (5 oz/81 yds/142g per ball):

    3 balls #098 Houston cream*

    •Size L/11/8mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

    •Stitch marker

    •Tapestry needle

    *Depending on your gauge, you may need 4 balls.

    Gauge

    With 2 strands held tog: Rnds 1–3 = 3½ inches; 9 hdc = 4 inches; 6 rows = 3¼ inches

    Pattern Notes

    Refer to Stitch Diagrams as needed.

    Weave in ends as work progresses.

    Basket is worked with 2 strands held together. Eyes and Nose are worked with single strand.

    Work in continuous rounds; do not join unless otherwise stated. Use stitch marker to mark beginning of rounds and move up as each round is completed.

    Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

    Chain-2 at beginning of round counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated.

    Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

    Special Stitches

    Extended treble crochet (ext tr): Yo twice, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 1 lp, [yo, draw through 2 lps] 3 times.

    Picot: Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook.

    Rnd 3: [2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st] 8 times. (24 hdc)

    Rnd 4: [2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 2 hdc] 8 times. (32 hdc)

    Rnd 5: [2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 3 sts] 8 times. (40 hdc)

    Rnd 6: [2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 4 sts] 8 times. (48 hdc)
