      These blocks are fast and fun and full of movement. They are great when used all together and they are also fun to use singly, in smaller projects. Have fun playing with them!

      Materials

      BLOCK BACKGROUND FABRIC(S):

      3⅜ yards if you use the same fabric for all blocks OR ½ yard per block if you use a different fabric for each block

      Note: If you use striped fabric and intend to match stripes, you may need to fussy-cut the blocks. In most cases this will require additional yardage. To be safe, you may want to have up to ¾ yard of each fabric for each block.

      APPLIQUÉ FABRIC:

      Variety of large scraps for blocks and English paper-pieced flowers

      GREEN BLOCK CENTERS:

      ⅓ yard if you use the same fabric for all blocks OR ⅛ yard per block if you use a different fabric for each block

      BLOCK ACCENT FABRIC:

      ⅝ yard if you use the same fabric for each block OR ⅛ yard per block if you use a different fabric for each block

      SETTING TRIANGLES AND OUTER BORDERS: 2¾ yards

      BINDING: 1 yard

      BACKING AND SLEEVE: 4½ yards

      BATTING: 70˝ × 80˝

      Additional Supplies

      LAMINATING SHEETS: 4 for templates, Essential Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets (by C&T Publishing; clear, single-sided, heavyweight, 9˝ × 12˝)

      FINE-TIP MARKER: such as Sharpie Ultra Fine Point Permanent Marker

      CLEAR VINYL: for positioning overlays. Use either:

      Clear upholstery vinyl: 56˝ wide, ½ yard

      OR

      Premium Clear Vinyl (by C&T Publishing): 16˝ wide, 2¼ yards

      ENGLISH PAPER-PIECING HEXAGONS:

      ¾˝ size, to make 4 flowers

      (7 hexagons per flower, 28 total)

      ½˝ size, to make 12 flowers

      (7 hexagons per flower, 84 total)

      PINS: Essential Applique Pins (by C&T Publishing) or ⅝˝ sequin pins

      APPLIQUÉ NEEDLES

      TOOTHPICKS

      SANDPAPER BOARD

      THREAD: matching 2-ply cotton thread for appliqué

      OPTIONAL: Clearview Triangle 60° Acrylic Ruler—10˝ (by C&T Publishing)

      Cutting

      WOF = width of fabric

      Block background fabric

      If you use the same fabric for all blocks:

      Cut 14 strips 8˝ × WOF. Subcut 54 rectangles 10˝ × 8˝.

      OR

      If you use a different fabric for each block:

      Cut 2 strips 8˝ × WOF from each fabric.

      Subcut 6 rectangles 10˝ × 8˝, 54 total.

      Appliqué fabric

      Cut as needed.

      Green block centers

      If you use the same fabric for all blocks:

      Cut 5 strips 2˝ × 20˝ WOF.

      Subcut 54 rectangles 2˝ × 3˝.

      OR

      If you use a different fabric for each block:

      Cut 1 strip 2˝ × 20˝ per block. Subcut 6 rectangles 2˝ × 3˝ for each block, 54 total.
