About this ebook
Ayesha (RA) was a beloved wife of the Prophet Muhammad. Born in the cradle of Islam and having spent her early years in the constant company of the Prophet, she dedicated her life to the cause of Islam. She was deeply familiar with the personality and Sunnah of the Prophet, and this made her a fountain of knowledge and wisdom regarding his life and actions. Many companions of the Prophet came to her to learn about the Quran and Hadith. She is also a wonderful role model for Muslim women of all times, demonstrating to them how to lead a productive life both inside and outside their homes. In the words of Syed Suleman Nadvi: “The biggest favour of Ayesha upon mankind is that she taught the world how a Muslim woman could, within the limits of the veil, play an active role in intellectual, religious, social, and political life. Islam has granted women a high status and has elevated them from their previously downtrodden position. The life story of Ayesha (RA) is a practical implementation of the kind of life that a woman should lead within an Islamic framework.”

Foreword
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Few authentic books are available in English on the subject of Muslim heroes. The ones that are there focus mainly on the Companions of the Prophet (SAW). Little is known to the general masses about the great personalities who had an impact on thousands of Muslims - who came after the Companions. When I read Tareekh-e-Islam ki Azeem Shakhsiat
I realized that it filled a gap. I thought of translating it into English so that all segments of our society have access to it.
The best part about this book is that it does not just contain stories of eminent people. It also focuses on the lessons that we need to learn from these sincere Momins – May Allah have mercy on them. This book has covered 20 Muslim heroes. Each hero is being presented as a separate booklet. You have the first one in your hands.
The first character the author has chosen is Ayesha Siddiqua (RA), the beloved wife of the Prophet (SAW). Although a lot is known about Ayesha (RA), she was included in this book because she is one Muslim woman who contributed immensely to the deen of Islam. May we all, men and women, learn from her devotion and sincerity towards Allah (SW).
I would like to thank Sohaib Umar for his help with the editing and the formatting of this booklet, Nadeem Siddiqui for the title design, and my husband Asif Misbah for his love and support.

Who was Ayesha (RA)
Her name was Ayesha, her given names were Siddiqua and Humera, her kuniat was Umme Abdullah and her title was Mother of the Believers. She was the daughter of Abu Bakr (RA) and was related to the Prophet (SAW) in the eighth generation. Allah (SW) conferred the title of Mother of the Believers on her as well as on the other wives of the Prophet (SAW). Until then, she was known as Umme Abdullah. The Arabs had a custom of naming a person after their children. She had no offspring of her own. Once she mentioned to the Prophet (SAW) that all his other wives had offspring by whose names they were called, so who could she be called after? He replied, After your nephew Abdullah.
[1] After that day, she was called Umme Abdullah.
She belonged to a family that needs no introduction. Her father Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) was the closest friend of the Prophet (SAW). He was the first man to accept Islam among men. His services to Islam are well known to all. He had the distinction of becoming the first Caliph of Islam after the death of the Prophet (SAW).
Her Birth
There are different opinions surrounding the birth of Ayesha (RA).
