About this ebook
A Poet's Path is a collection of poems that reflects on life changes, grief, friendship, faith, love, disappointments etc. There are fifty poems in this book which are divided into five major themes. The individual poems address a particular concern or joy or hope sometimes all together.
Why A Poet's Path? I felt that I was torn somewhere between immortalizing my feelings and producing a source of entertainment. I understood that it is not enough to consider poetry as a means to vent but it has to be easy on the eyes when being read - at least, that's what I told myself. So I edited each poem without losing the basic emotion which inspired it in the first place.
The result is that I have published my personal diary that I hope you will enjoy reading and probably relate with the feelings expressed therein.
Franklin Ovie Ejemutah
Poet? Maybe... Franklin Ovie Ejemutah has neither entered nor won a poetry contest. He has not been published in any literary journal or studied any creative writing course. He sees himself as a guy who is 'writing about everything he sees before him'. (Lukas Graham's 7 Years lyrics) As the quote shows, Franklin is heavily influenced by music especially songs by artistes such as 3 Doors Down, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Coldplay, Nickelback, Tim McGraw etc. He began his own writing in his early twenties initially as a means of coping with the realisation that it is a one-way trip from childhood to adulthood. Since then he has completed two poetry collections, A Poet's Path and Empty Pages, with a third, Faded Glory, in the works. When he is not writing, Franklin is occupied with his day job in Instrumentation Engineering. He also engages in the public service work of enlightening people with spiritual and moral values.
