This book is better than most of the Candida books out there. She includes much valuable information, especially specific products to try. She also said a few things that really challenged what I thought I knew about this subject. I recommend it to those struggling with maintaining a life with Candida.

Introduction

Is it possible to know how to control your weight and keep it off as you age?  The answer is a resounding Yes!

We’ll start with explaining about the role an organ we call gut and why we want you to know that it is all in your GUT.  Yes, the overgrowth in your gut is more than likely a huge factor in sustaining, maintaining, and most importantly losing your weight.

This book will explain what might be going on with your gut and also touches topics about how to make some simple lifestyle changes to regain your health and most importantly lose that excessive weight.

Chapter 1

We Are What We Eat

Overgrowth of fungi and bacteria in your gut is due to our modern diet and current medications so that it’s virtually unavoidable. Even if you’re eating all organic foods; once in awhile you might inevitably eat a prepackaged or bagged food such as salsa and chips for example.  Regardless, the bottom line is that the nutrients in the soil is no longer present as it once was.

As intimidating as this sounds it is very common and can be reversed back to the healthy, ideally gut-functioning state.  Weight loss can actually happen and become sustainable.  I cannot tell you how many patients I have had who would say:

"I did this unsustainable diet and kept yo-yoing between

gaining and losing weight"

"I am unable to keep the weight off"

"I do not eliminate on a regular cycle; one bowel movement

every two days or so".

A quick disclaimer: We will not cover eliminating toxins in your diet in this book.  However, this is an important second step after addressing Candida overgrowth.  Please understand the term used for eliminating toxins is called detoxification. There are two phases of the detoxification process, Phase 1 and 2 Detoxification Pathways.

An example of the Phase 1 Detoxification Pathway is the Cytochrome P-450 mixed function
