About this ebook

Most of us know that trees are living beings, but do many of us actually think of what that life entails? Forests are full of mysteries, even for those who have studied them their whole lives. German forester Peter Wohlleben paints a vivid picture about the fascinating world that lays just outside our doors.
As we learn more about trees, it becomes abundantly clear that we have more in common with this fixed, steady plant life than we think. Trees are capable of forming relationships and communities. They are capable of making mistakes, and equally capable of adapting and changing to suit their environment.

    About Summary Station

    Chapter One

Peter Wohlleben became a forester many years ago. He primarily worked in the German mountain area. His main motivations to start with centered on selecting the right trees for the crop.

It took him quite some time to open his eyes to the world around him. Only then did he begin to recognize some of the incredible things around him. He began to do more research, and discovered how trees communicate, suffer, and flourish. As a result, he began to host survival tours in the area.

These discoveries shaped and altered his views on how forests should be maintained. He eagerly invites his readers to take these views into consideration, and to share in the happiness that trees may bring us.

    Chapter Two
