Great Jerky Recipes - Wesley Ball
Introduction
Prehistoric eras show that the man has always been trying to hunt and get food in order to survive. Actually, up to a point, this has been his only occupation. All of his existence was revolving around the idea of getting food for him and for those he lived with.
Maslow shows in his pyramid that the man is incapable of having higher expectations from himself if the basic needs are not fulfilled. For instance, he will have no thoughts regarding the process of personal and intellectual development if he does not eat or if he does not get enough sleep. This process can be easily observed through history. As the man started to be more and more aware of his needs and worked towards their fulfillment, he started to have a whole different perspective on life. As his stomach was fed and his mind would rest, he would then have the time to focus on himself. As a result of this evolution, basic discoveries such as the ability to read and write have been made.
In order to sustain himself, the man managed to develop entire systems that would support his existence and help
him get easier through life. However, food remained the epicenter of his existence and in order to maintain his source of energy on constant levels, he also managed to develop this area in his own benefit. As a consequence, we can now notice the whole industry of food that is to be seen on every street. You cannot take a simple walk without encountering a store filled with food and all the necessities man needs.
Food has developed a long way since the earliest ages and now we, the humans, hit a point where we can afford to eat anything, everywhere, whenever we want and however we want to. Food comes in all shapes, colors and sizes; all you need to do is to take your pick.
However, one of the things that we still have in common with the prehistoric people, when it comes to food, is the fact that most of us cannot envision a proper meal without a nice juicy piece of meat. And the irony is that as time goes by, we always seem to go back to the old. The same goes for the meat. We seem to go back and prepare it as the Native Americans used to
