    I’d never thought of myself as a sales trainer, in spite of the numerous books I’ve written on the subject and the sales and sales management experience in my background. However, my clients did, and often engaged me to help equip their teams to profitably grow and succeed.

    I have learned a few value-added lessons (missing pieces) along the way and have been pleased to share them with other top performing sales professionals and business owners. Amazingly enough, what I’ve shared has resonated with them and they have gone on to apply those lessons, many learned the hard way, to create profitable and productive sales careers.

    I love seeing people ‘get it’ and move forward in their lives and careers. I guess that is one of the major drivers in my life and why I keep writing and speaking across the globe. There is something special about seeing someone succeed.

However, many of the comments I hear sound more like ‘excuses’ to me. During these same ‘tough times’ some sales people (in industries across the board) are having the best years of their career. They are making sales not excuses!

    Tough times provide an opportunity to prove your worth and dedication as a selling professional. Your choice!

    Tough times give you a chance to shine, to leave your competition in the dust when they run for cover, and to establish yourself as a credible resource and trusted advisor to your current and potential clients. Your choice!

    Tough times can be your most productive and profitable times. Your choice!

    I believe one of the reasons we either fail or succeed is directly based on our mental conditioning and attitude.

    Selling is a lonely, risky, and often challenging business.

    Selling puts you in places outside of your comfort zone.

    Selling also confronts our fear of rejection on a regular and personal basis.
