Marathon Training - Shawn Sullivan
Introduction
You might think that if you want to run a half-marathon, the best way to prepare is just to put on a pair of running shoes and get out there. Its a commendable attitude and such enthusiasm will prove very helpful.
However, running a half-marathon is not a small task. It takes time, commitment and not a small amount of effort. Most of this will indeed involve putting in hours of running and if you are itching to get your legs moving, don't worry, there will be plenty of opportunities for that. But like most large undertakings, there are successful and less successful ways to prepare. You are not the first person to set out on this journey and, rather than make all the mistakes that others have made before you, why not make sure you copy the good habits that others have found and make preparation for a half-marathon as smooth and as pleasurably as possible. There will be enough sweat, tears and aching limbs along the way without making things unnecessarily
