    This book gives a basic knowledge in mastery of medical terms for people interested in understanding medical terms. It contains the various body systems and organs that are involved in the body systems with brief description on how they work, basic medical equipment used in the hospital, basic abbreviations that represent; specific rooms in a hospital, body conditions, various treatments and terms used by medical practitioners and prefixes and suffixes that help ease in comprehension of various body conditions.

    This book gives terminologies in the medical field in an easy and understandable format. It is arranged in an orderly manner that is alphabetical order for easier location of terms in the chapters involving abbreviations, suffixes and prefixes. It is wise to understand that most medical terminologies are made up of three parts that bear a significance and give directional meaning. The three parts are prefixes, roots, and suffixes which when put together give you a meaning.

    The root is at the centre of the word and is the key part of the whole word. It gives you overview of what you are about to deal with and indicates the part of the body involved.

    The prefix is at the beginning of the word and expounds more about the circumstances surrounding the meaning of the word.

    The suffix is usually at the end of a word and, normally indicates a procedure disease or a condition.
