Culinary Stencils

There is a huge selection of culinary stencils available, so choosing a design can sometimes be a little tricky. The first consideration is the scale of the item you wish to decorate. You will need a much smaller-scale pattern for stencilling a cookie or cupcake than for a cake board. However, using part of a larger pattern on a cupcake or cookie can work very effectively, and repeating a small-scale pattern around the edge of a cake board is often very successful.

Using Edible Dusts

When using dusts to stencil your cakes and cookies, it is very important to ensure that the products you are using are edible. Read the small print on the pots of dusts that you have to make sure that the ones you are using are not for decoration purposes only. If they are edible they will have an ingredients list and a best before date.
