Strong Accents Can Affect Hiring Chances

In "Accent Reduction For Professionals", you'll discover secrets of reducing – and eliminating – your foreign accent.

Envision the ability to present a contract or proposal to your colleagues and not worrying about how you sound, confident in knowing that you've effectively masked your tell-tale accent and how everyone is listening to what you are saying and not how you're saying. With this guide, you'll quickly learn the easiest ways to sound more like an American and dramatically improve the way you sound.

What insights can you be assured of learning when you read and implement the tips, tricks, and techniques revealed in this concise book?

• 8 secrets to quickly and effortlessly reducing your accent

• The Number 1 method of acquiring not only accent elimination but the intonation and syllable stress of native English speakers.

• What are the sounds that English speakers use daily that are difficult, if not seemingly impossible, for those who are still learning to master the intonation and other nuances of the language

This Guide will Also Reveal How to Overcome:

• The use the "s" or the "z" sounds at the ends of words. (What you didn't know that sometimes the letter "s" could be pronounced as a "z"?)

• The proper pronunciation of perhaps the trickiest sound of all: the "th." With the instructions in this book, you can swiftly conquer this sound and rapidly improve your accent

• The diphthong problem that confuses and confound so many non-native speakers.

• The seemingly insurmountable hard "r" sound. Did you know English is the only language with a true hard "r" sound?

In this revolutionary approach to speaking like a native, you'll discover what in your speech has been holding you back. You'll be able to start implementing these practical tips and others will stand up and take notice immediately.

This has all the material I am looking for in teaching students to recognize individual sounds of English and some basics of how sounds connect in sentences and phrases. the writer seems to think that what students need is to *understand* the differences between sounds in their language and English. That may be a starting point, but understanding what is different is not the same as being able to change the way you speak. But the price is great and there's a lot of info here.

I would say this is useful ONLY if you put in the time and effort to learn the English language, improving accent takes a lot time. It took me almost 2 years to improve my accent to a point that are on the native speak level.

Great Read. I'm an American culture coach and I use this book with my clients. My clients are professionals who know their areas of expertise very well, but know they aren't always understood in the workplace. the writer seems to think that what students need is to *understand* the differences between sounds in their language and English. That may be a starting point, but understanding what is different is not the same as being able to change the way you speak. But the price is great and there's a lot of info here.

It may frustrate you endlessly – especially as a professional with goals of being successful in your career. The fact that many find your accent charming doesn’t compensate much. It certainly doesn’t mean it’ll make you successful.

Of course, your accent is less than charming when it prevents someone from understanding what you’re saying. It’s less than charming when you find yourself repeating yourself. It’s especially frustrating and less than charming when you discover that your accent is actually preventing you from advancing in your chosen career.

While this book is useful to all individuals who wish to reduce their accent and sound more like a native speaker, it’s written with the professional individual in mind. If your English language skills are solid, your grasp of the vocabulary solid and you’re comfortable speaking the language itself, then you may very well be searching for the last piece of the puzzle. Eliminating the accent so you can not only be understood a bit more easily, but feel like you’re a better fit into your office environment.

As sad as it may seem, a strong accent when speaking English can actually keep you from achieving your career goals as well as reaching your full potential. It has been proven that when some individuals continually ask you to repeat yourself, it can lower your chances of professional advancement. In other words, enunciating your words and using correct grammar are two requirements to conquer the business world today.

I know how serious you are about your career. Because of this, I also know how serious you are about improving both your pronunciation and in the process reducing and eliminating your accent. This book deals specifically with helping you speak more
