- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I was very excited to read this, having seen the original call for contributors go out last year. This is a brilliantly written and varied set of short stories and poetry from both well-known and up and coming writers from BAME backgrounds aimed at a YA audience. I loved the use of different genres, including speculative fiction and fantasy, and the exploration of themes from the refugee crisis and racism to adolescent sexuality and family relationships. I particularly enjoyed Nilesh Shukla's 'We Who?', Mary Bello's 'Dear Asha' and Phoebe Roy's fantastical 'Iridescent Adolescent'.This would make excellent reading for the young person in your life, or simply for anyone looking to explore writing from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints.
