    About the Author

    Introduction

My first four poems were written in 1964/1965.1 turned 11 years old in December 1964 and was in the sixth grade. I’ve become a lot older since then, but I doubt I’ve become more intelligent.

I’ve arranged these poems, chronologically, so that in some small measure the Reader can encounter them in the order they were written in my life. For those of you who like to jump ahead, feel free to do so.

    Hope you enjoy.

Towards my make believe far and distant shore.

    Trees

In my yard there is a tree

And also as far as the eye can see.

They grow all over this wondrous land

To shelter and provide for mortal man.

They grow tall and straight into the sky

    And
