for giving me my spirit.
And to my adopted mother, America,
for giving me the opportunities

Give Me
Give me light from your eyes
so I can see night’s darkness,
so I can see stars embracing clouds,
so I can see tears dripping from the moon.
And you scream no, go away,
can’t tolerate sharing your silence.
Give me color from your song
so I can paint with rainbow your wound,
so I can draw with a brush wild flowers,
so I can whisper the words that ignore you.
And you scream no, go away,
don’t want me to hear your soul.
Give me a caress
