PREFACE:

Dear Beloved:

I have longed for this day, dreamt about it on several occasions and finally, I have this lovely inspirational companion just for you. I am thrilled beyond expression that God actually granted me the privilege and the grace to speak to you. I feel honored that you selected my book and will have it among your other books, and hopefully, you pick it up often and spend time learning all you can from it.

By undertaking this task, I want to pass on to you some valuable information that I believe children of God must have while growing up. You deserve to have the basic and divine information from God’s perspective on what is going on in your world. It’s important that you live a proper life according to the Christian principles and doctrines. God wants you to live a righteous, happy life and avoid being carried away by the many wrong happenings in the world today.

I had the rare and divine opportunity of getting the substance of this reading companion from God as He woke me up in the nightly hours to write for His children. However, I have also included some inspirational teachings from my mother and similar words of wisdom from anointed, God-fearing personalities. Thought-provoking and divine sermons from the sanctuary of God also formed part of the ingredients for this companion.

As a mother, I have shared most of this information and knowledge with my son and other children that I have encountered. I pray that my writing, thoughts and knowledge will become words of wisdom and produce good fruits worthy of emulation in your life and enable you to be seen as worthy example to your generation.

Beloved, I want you to be mindful of the fact that your heavenly Father and creator of the universe loves you passionately and unconditionally. Even if it seems no one tells you often enough. He created you beautifully and put His unique mark of excellence on you. He has made you a distinct being from everyone else including your parents; He therefore expects you to walk, serve, praise and honor Him and have Him as your most trusted companion. He requires good behavior from you and by so doing you will be bountifully rewarded. However, if you fail to obey and honor Him, and you turn around to do your own thing, He will be displeased with you and He will discipline you just like your earthly parents would. Beloved, God wants you to understand the principles and rules that govern what goes on in Heaven and your temporary home called planet earth. He wants you to learn and live by His Word and teachings. This is for your own benefit today and your eternity. If you accept to abide by His teachings and wisdom, your life will be a sweet, pleasing aroma in His nostril.

Now, let us examine together what God says about your everyday affairs and concerns. These include, but are not limited to, your joy, pains, worries, family situations, ambitions, dreams and aspirations. I will like to share with you how God expects you to handle these vagaries of human issues and concerns. I pray that as you journey with me through this reading companion, you will find it a productive, stimulating and rewarding exercise. Beloved, I pray you remain blessed in God’s Will.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Evangelist Omowunmi Lawal is one of several children born to a polygamous Muslim family in Lagos, Nigeria. From her early childhood, she sensed her passion for praise worship and love for word of the Bible, not knowing why. Her early Christian education had significant impact on her faith and walk with Christ.

Wunmi knew from her childhood that she has a flair for writing and passion for communicating. She documented a great deal of her writings which comprised mostly of her poems and her perceptions. After obtaining a Master’s degree from Texas Southern University, in Houston, Texas, Wunmi returned to her home country, Nigeria, where she was gainfully employed and served meritoriously with the First Bank of Nigeria. She had a wonderful and challenging career in various capacities and after a short ten years, Wunmi voluntarily retired and returned to the United States with a view to studying for her post graduate degree.

While in Nigeria, Wunmi engaged in small-scale business enterprises which involved cloth merchandizing and publication of custom-designed greeting cards which contained her own specially composed poems. Wunmi wrote several topical papers, essays and speeches both at work and for friends who were appointed to executive and leadership positions in their various establishments.

Wunmi, as she is fondly called, felt the need to understand Christianity better, from a biblical perspective. She attended the Redeemed Christian Bible College in June 2005 to obtain a certificate in Theological Studies. Through the motivation of the Holy Spirit, it was revealed that Wunmi is called to be an Evangelist. She has since written several spiritual reading tracts about the gospel of Jesus and has been going out to preach the good news of Christ Kingdom to unbelievers for the salvation of lost souls.

While on the project of her belated mother, Wunmi heard the voice of Holy Spirit asking that she writes for the children of God. This prompted her to begin the effort that culminated in her first three manuscripts soon to be published. Kingdom’s Heritage will be her first published work.

Wunmi volunteers in various capacities in her church, while she returns to school to pursue another field of learning endeavor. She is resident in Maryland with her son.

To God be the glory for the mighty things He has done. This book is humbly dedicated to God Almighty, my savior, redeemer and my all; without whom there will be nothing to present in the first instance. He is a God of covenant and He kept this one with me. His divine grace, inspiration and empowerment made all of it possible. I hallow His holy name.

I seize this auspicious moment to pay a warm tribute to my belated mother, Mrs. Jarinat Ibishomi Disu, whose inspiration, motivation and direction has been phenomenal. I would say she is my number one mentor educationally and spiritually, who earlier on in my life planted in me the sacred fear and absolute trust in the power, might, righteousness and holiness of God. Unbeknownst to her, she actually stirred my consciousness to behold the awesomeness of our heavenly Father. She will forever be cherished as a mother of sterling qualities with unfathomable godly truths and convictions. I owe a great deal to my mother and God’s benevolence.

I will also like to acknowledge the unflinching support of my wonderful son, Gbolahan Afolabi Lawal, who stood by me during the stormy periods. He is my number one indefatigable encourager and his unshakeable confidence in my potential was exhilarating. It spurs me on to greater and higher heights and drives me to strive for excellence. I am in awe of his objectivity and naked truth each time I needed a fresh perspective and honest evaluation during this write-up.

My deep and profound appreciation is ascribed to my beloved sister, Temitayo Disu. She is my God- sent angel in human form. Her spiritual insight, patience, simplicity, unique understanding and wisdom helped tremendously in keeping me grounded with fresh and uncluttered perspective on life. Her tranquility, peace and stability, compared to my otherwise stressful and arduous life-style, was a saving and welcome grace. She is my inestimable joy and blessing wrapped with no strings attached.

My deep-seated appreciation goes to my co-evangelist, Mrs. Monica Voke- Ighorodje, an ardent and professional lawyer with contagious fervor for God’s work. Her ideas, thoughts and mindset are phenomenal. She contributed immensely to the typing and editing of the initial draft of this book.

I cannot rest my pen without enunciating my sincere gratitude to my friend, a sister and a co-laborer in the vineyard of God, Mrs. Tolulope Falodun, for her genuine kindness and generosity. She so believed in the impact of this book on the young generation that she invested generously towards its timely publication. May God abundantly reward her labor of love.

My beautiful, innately intelligent and intuitive niece, Zummmy Disu, cannot be left out of this praise trail.
