Diva to Diva
You know how sometimes a chance meeting with someone changes your life? You cross paths with a woman you admire and make her your mentor, often times without her even knowing it. I was fortunate enough to meet such a woman when I was nine months old. She not only became my mentor, she became my mother. I thank God every day for bringing my parents to me. However, I don’t think I have ever thanked them. It is too late to tell my dad, but he always knew. My mom and I didn’t get along very well. I have never really told her how grateful I am. This is to her, before it is too late.
Dear Mom,
It wasn’t until I became the mother of a teenager that I truly understood the dynamics of our relationship. I am sorry for being so strong willed. You handled it well and taught me that I couldn’t always have my way. There are many words left unsaid between us. After you read this there will not be any. I am sorry that I waited this long to say them.
I doubt that you know how grateful I am for you and dad. Thank you for choosing me to be your daughter and never making me feel adopted. Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for your time. My childhood was wonderful. I remember all
